i’m afraid we will hire like we did the basketball coach and get an assistant ???
this guy? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pete_Lembo
I’m an Elon Football Alum. I like what he has done at my alma mater.
Interview with Pete Lembo:
Jim Leavitt was never a head coach before taking over at USF. He spent 5 years at Kansas State, 2 as a LB coach, 3 as a DC. Prior to that his experience was low level assistant stuff and a Grad Assistant at Iowa.

I’m not going to lie I would be dissapointed if he his our first coach, we sure do talk the talk, let’s see if we can actually walk the walk for once.

Why would you be disappointed? He’s done good things at Elon, I think he’d be a good choice.

If we are suppose to move up to FBS as quickly as possible like Judy’s loves talk about then I want someone that has FBS experience.
Don’t see Lembo coming here. He loves it at Elon. They have a great program, even though this year was a little of a disappointment. He runs an wide-open exciting offense. Would love to have him, but I just don’t see it happening. He turned down an interview with Richmond (a FCS power) last year to stay at Elon. Our program will be at FCS longer than people think.

I doubt Lembo will be our coach, but I’ll side with Lew on this. He’s done a good job at Elon. Head Coaching experience. 79-36 (69%) overall per wikipedia. We could do much worse.

Lembo to Ball St. according to Dienhart on twitter.
Where are obviously hiring Urban Meyer, why else would he retire from Florida?
Where did the update come from?

Pete Lembo of Elon is no longer available. Was just hired by Ball State in the MAC. Hate that he went to Ball State when he could have been in the SAC to start our program (pun intended).

Sucks, I was getting excited about Lembo maybe coming!!! Ohh well I have faith we will do a good job, it has already been stated that the “Crew” is looking and HC experience is a must, per what they said. They claim an assistant is not a comfy move for them because they want someone to be able to stick when the grind starts. I am trying to find the article again! And I am sorry to be a Debbie Downer, but we are not going FBS, prolly not within 5 years. We will be playing FCS so we will be hiring FCS material. And accordingly we will be planning to have an FCS program. Judy can say 5 years until the cows come home, but theyre are alot of requirements for FBS and I for one have no problem becoming an FCS force and then moving up. I dont want to move FBS for the sake of it. (Sorry got off topic)
But as a head coach we def. need a scrappy resourceful coach!
