Good⌠Iâd prefer today, but PRIOR to April 28 gives us a target date to watch.

Somebody start the countdown for this. ;D
We should have him hired NOW. Whoâs scouting/recruiting for us? NO ONE
i really would like to hear what the strategy is with this.
I know we have the impatience factor on our side, but i have not talked to anyone who thinks that waiting this long is a good idea. And that includes people i have talked to who work in the AD.
It doesnât make any sense.

UTSAâs Board approved football one month and Larry Coker was moving into his office 2 months later. I too would like to know the logic behind hiring a coach that late in the recruiting season and well past the normal football coach hiring season of January.

UTSAâs first season is 2011, ours is 2013
Coker was officially announced as head coach on March 6th, 2009. That would be the equivalent of March 6th, 2011 for us.
I still donât get the strategy. Unless our goal is to hire someone who has been out of the game, or recently fired. Phil Fulmer, Tommy Bowden, etc.
Well, for one, we donât have an office set up. Remember, they are completely rennovating the second floor of Barnhardt to make room for football offices⌠kind of need to have that done first.

I think heâll be hired well before the April 28th date.
Pretty sure we could find a space for a desk or two, a computer and a phone somewhere on this campus for a few months.

UNCC Football Coach Imminent? Posted December 15th, 2010 at 3:55 PM by Jeff A. Taylor
Could be.
And Iâll put a positive spin on one proven college assistant coach â weâre talking stops at SEC and ACC schools â with deeps ties to Charlotte basically being told thanks but no thanks on a back-channel inquiry about any slot on the nascent UNCC staff. Maybe Judy Rose has it all figured out and we are just weeks away from an announcement thatâll put a HC and the backbone of staff in place.

Here is the thing about stops at SEC and ACC schools, being that vague leads me to believe those schools were Vanderbilt and Duke.
Definitely interesting, maybe the media will release something!
what does that mean about a positive spin? because he says they told him there was no chance how is that being positive?
what does that mean about a positive spin? because he says they told him there was no chance how is that being positive?
maybe we have someone who is more qualified. Possibly someone who has been a HC at an SEC/ACC school in the past.
That is what I am hoping. We wanted someone with Head Coaching experience, and that coach will be forming his staff.

Agree. I canât get behind the idea of having a current assistant coach with no head coaching experience as our first coach. They canât be a learn as you go job. It has to be someone whoâs been there before and knows how to put together a staff and recruiting class from the get go.
Would be great to see a name soon.
