Fordham Post Game

Seeing as no one else is gunna start the thread. Ill go a head.

I got up at 4 to watch the game. But no F%@kin video feed was working. So I can’t comment on the game. Looking at the boxscore looks like a pretty even scoring.

I would love to see us doing better at the charity stripe than 57.1%.

Free throws were pretty bad… especially Coley. Our bench was 0-9 from behind the arc. Barnett’s didn’t really look that bad, a couple rimmed out. Coleman though at 0-5… come on, stop shooting them. He had ridiculous play inside the basket. He shot 4-6 inside (with a ridiculous reverse ally that should be a top 10 play of the day). Anderson shot 3-6 from the 3, but got blocked twice, what a surprise. Harris had a great game yet again, and some really nice drives to the basket. We only had 13 TOs… but some of them were really, really bad. Our perimeter defense was pretty mediocre again… but thankfully they missed a bunch of them.

Still was a decent, entertaining game.

Anyone watch sportscenter to see if this made it?

Visualize our half court set offense… Now, tell your two post guys to stand around - or better yet, let one “wander” around the top of the key and screen Dijuan poorly… pass/dribble the ball for 25 sec, then take a bad shot… THAT was Fordham’s offensive scheme. Looked painfully familiar.

Our rebounding effort was poor, especially the first half. FU had one great athlete (#23) who kept this game from being a 35 pt blowout.

The couple of turnovers mentioned before were painful. We would have a steal/fastbreak then lazily pass the ball straight to a defender. OUCH! Harris is the glue holding this whole season together and he proved it last night. He sparked the offense by going coast-to-coast on a few ocassions and those alley-oop feeds were fantastic. FU defense was asleep most of the night.

Derrick Wittenberg is a very erratic coach.

We must lead the nation in alley-oops and I haven’t seen a single one on sportscenter, so, no it didn’t make it.

That reverse dunk ally oop to Coleman was sick

The alley oop to Coleman alone, made it worth the drive across town. I think that may be the greatest dunk I’ve seen in Halton which says a lot considering how big a fan of Jarvis I was.

Possibly the worst attendance ever for a Senior Day but I certainly couldn’t blame anyone for not showing up. I can’t make it to Richmond so that was it for me until next season. I’m glad.

Senior Day was moved to Tuesday night against Richmond because Coley had a death in the family and they were not going to be there.

Hopefully the turn out will be better Tuesday. I would have to say I kept hoping for a 30 point lead and never got it.

Thanks Jim. I really liked the article on Harris, a local guy.

Good comment in the blog about the foul call on Coley. The big man for Fordham should have been called for flagrant fouls on the 2 ally-oops to Coley. He was pushing Coley out of bounds after Coley jumped and was in the air. Very dangerous for how high in the air Coley gets.

I’m surprised that no one mentioned the multitude of mohawks

Yes…very cool, kinda mini-mohawks.Quite sad that the best thing we have to talk about this year is the player’s coiffs! Oh,and did anyone else hear the pregame with Bobby and Matt, where Bobby said we are tied with Fordham in the A-10 for most injuries.Imagine if any of our starters were actually hurt for a long period of time.

Like Wilderness and Bowden?

I see stupid comments like this and wonder if you even follow our program.

How many games did Wilderness miss? Take those games away from our record and what is our record in games he didn’t miss? And counting as a starter a freshman who never played minute 1 for us and expecting him to have made a huge difference is self-delusional to me. And as to me being negative even in the “good 'ol days”,exactly when were the “good old days?” I love the team…but I think,as I have consistently thought and said on this board, that we have a mediocre-at-best coach.I said it when we eked into the tourney 4 or 5 years ago,I said it when we all had much discussion re: Bobby’s extension and I still feel that way.Sorry if anyone feels that I am a decidedly inferior fan to them because that’s what I have consistently stated…Personally i’d cut Bobby more slack this year if we had lost Mack or Coley or Harris for any period of time…As for my “following the program”…i’ve missed 2 home games in the last 3 years.

Jarvis never played in Halton so Coleman’s dunk can be your favorite in Halton without you feeling guilty
