Former Niner Question

[QUOTE=X-49er;301090]Delano was from Michigan. He had Michigan plates on his vehicle.

Andre Davis was the guard from Independence during that time.

Did Dimingus Bundy ever go pro?

Top in steals literally, didn't Delano get busted for shop lifting at Belk?
That's what I thought. Didn't he get caught stealing a shirt at Belk's Eastland? Mullins reluctantly let him back on the team after Delano's Dad made a tearful plea, citing his son's friends back home were all in jail or dead. He was a solid PG.

I wasn't gonna say it....wondered how long that was going to take.

OMFG, I forgot about Dimingus Bundy. And is Swanigan still on a milk carton like he was that year?

I have so few recollections of that team. Seems really weird that several of those guys played together. And we were so, so much better the next year when Diego, KP, Galen, Hayward, etc came in.

Yes, we were better the next year, but we were pretty good that year (96-97) as well.

This video was produced and unveiled for the first game with the new videoboard in order to provide some impact and do something we had never been able to do before. We tried to make sure we covered the history of the program (with what footage was available) and took care of the current team to include them which is why there were multiples of D.A., Leemire, Nance, Curtis. Also at that time every coach on the staff was a graduate so we had footage of each of them as players. DeVaull just happened to have two good clips that weren’t actual basketball highlights but fit well and spoke to winning championships - so they were both included.

We hope to make an edit of this video for next year, subbing out some clips and including some new ones from the past two seasons. Hope this helps some of you identify who is who.

Daryl Devaul is the guy hamming it up in the video. He played either the 2 or 3 position.

Delano Johnson I believe is a graduate of Independence High. Some PG from that era was a local guy, it could be someone else.

Devaul was about 6’9" and played center.
