Former Saint Louis coach Spoonhour lung transplant and passing

Former Saint Louis coach Charlie Spoonhour is awaiting a lung transplant at Duke Medical Center. For those who go back to the Conference USA days, “Spoon” coached the Billikens during the 1990s and led them to 3 NCAA and 1 NIT appearances in his 7 seasons at SLU. If he could have kept Larry Hughes in a Saint Louis uni for more than a one-and-done before he bolted to the NBA, then certainly would have had more trips to the Big Dance. Anyway, wish him and his family all the best!
