Why would you have him put down? Just let him go if you're going to do that. Cats can live in the woods on their own. At least that way he/she has a chance for survival.
Seriously. The 600 that live on campus seem to be doing just fine.

Please don’t do this. While this may seem like the best possible solution, if the cat manages to survive it usually just leads to more kittens without homes.
Haven’t you ever watched the price is right? Spay and neuter your pets to control the pet population. There’s a good chance you’d never have this kitten if a responsible person had their pet spayed/neutered.
I’ll ask my family, but its doubtful. If the animal shelter won’t take it, call the local AARP, or other groups, there’s TONS in meck county. If that doesn’t work, leave it at the vets in a box. That will give it the best shot, since it will have more exposure to pet lovers.
I have had a lot of experience with cats and have found that if you gradually introduce the new kitten to the older cat eventually the older cat will get used to having it around.
I suggest going to a nursing home and handing it to an old lady (preferably sitting in a wheelchair), discretely without eye contact, then just keep walking. Works best if someone can drop you off at one entrance and can pick you up at a different exit point so you don’t have to turn around. Chances are she’ll lose it or easily bruise, but thats no longer your problem. high five.

To be terrorized…poor kitty

Along the same lines…
I have two adult cats that I need to find a home for. One is 9 and the other is 10 yrs old… My mother in law is highly allergic and cannot spend any longer than about 24 hours with us (go ahead, let the jokes fly…). We are having twins in about a month, so mother in law coming to help out for a while (after the birth and beyond) will not happen unless we find a new home for the cats. Ideally, we would like for them to stay together, but not absolutely critical. If you know of anyone looking for cats - not kittens… maybe an older couple jsut looking for some “pet companionship”? Please PM me and I can get them information about the cats.

So wait, you need 2 more cats?
After that depressing news I will remove my picture

He had feline leukemia. I have a feeling the parents are pretty pissed off at me. Their 4 daughters probably bawled for hours that their new kitty got put to sleep.

There’s a dark twisted side of me that finds that funny, but damn that sucks.

Hey Noreaster… ya think they would like two healthy, adult cats? If you still have contact with them please let them know that I have another option for them. (Litter Box, food, couple buckets of litter, all included)
Woah, the vet didnt tell you that right away?
