Free Kitten

We found a small black kitten in the parking deck at Target. It was scared and there was no indication that its mother was around or anything.

It didn’t look like it had eaten in a while. Anyway, we brought him(?) home because he was likely to die there, and we felt bad. My wife pulled him out of the wheel of another vehicle. We fed him and are keeping him healthy for now. A trip to the vet will come this week.

However, we can’t keep him. We have a cat and a dog already, and the cat hates other cats. Our cat is absolutely terrible.

If anyone wants a kitten or knows someone who wants one, please let me know. I would appreciate it if you would also ask arround.

sorry, unable to take it off of your hands.

I do have some advice, though. Please do not feed the kitten cow’s milk. I used to work in an animal hospital and I often saw stray kittens in worse condition due to well meaning people doing this. I forget the reason why it does not nourish the cat, but it can be fatal.

Good luck. And here’s to you for doing the right thing!

goat’s milk is good.

if worse comes to worse…your cat will get used to it! trust me.

Craigslist will get it done in a day or so.

Thanks! It actually appears to be old enough to not need milk. We are giving it soft kitten food. My wife is taking him to the vet tomorrow, so I will be able to attest to his health sometime tomorrow…

He’s cute, but he’s scared. I don’t think he likes hanging out in our bathroom…

congrats on your new cat!

Has anyone actually ever paid for a cat?

Not this cat. Before we got married, my wife lived with another girl who had a cat. Our cat (Marley) kept the other cat pinned in corners. Marley wouldn’t let the other cat eat, and Marley took over the other cat’s litter box, meaning the other cat pooed all over the house, on the walls, etc. This lasted for a few months before the other cat was so weak and scared that the other girl moved out.

So, yeah, this kitten is NOT staying with us. If we can’t find a home for him within a week or two, he’s heading to the humane society.

I think he was talking about the cow’s milk. On the farm growing up, we used to squirt the milk from the udder straight into the cats mouths.

Humane Society won’t take it- you would be put on a backed up list. You will probably have to take it to the pound…

Or put it in a box, find a girls apt., place the box- kitten and all by the door, proceed to knock 3 times, then run away as fast as possible and dive head first into the nearest bush to witness the forthcoming confusion.

You sound like you’ve done this before.

Actually I am assuming it works for kittens as well as it does for babies/small children.

If you place it outside a vet clinic or shelter early in the morning, chances are it will end up in the pound. Flyers may be your best bet.

Ok, we’re talking about a FREE kitten…just wanted to clarify that. I’m not asking for the normal $15,000 that kittens go for these days. This one is FREE.

Still haven’t found a home, but he’s cute…trust me.

Please pass the word around. Otherwise, this guy is getting put down next week.

Got a picture? Maybe that will help spread the word.

Why would you have him put down? Just let him go if you’re going to do that. Cats can live in the woods on their own. At least that way he/she has a chance for survival.
