Robert Morris (4-2) at Fordham (3-3), 1:00
Sacred Heart (1-6) at Monmouth (2-4), 2:00
Auburn (3-1) vs George Washington (2-2), BB&T Classic, Washington, DC, 2:30
Virginia Commonwealth (3-3) vs Maryland (5-2), BB&T Classic, Washington, DC, 7:30
Monmouth put up a whopping 11 points in the first half. With 2:20 to play, Sacred Heart leads 74-48.
Sacred Heart’s record will improve to 2-6, and their RPI of 317 will most likely improve.
I have now concluded that we must have been kidnapped by Joran Van der Sloot and none of our real players played in that game.

I noticed the score was 43-18 early. Ouch. Sacred Heart?
Fordham got punked again. Do they have senioritis or what? It’s amazing to me that 5 players starting together over 4 seasons (with some talented younger players) can’t win games early. I’m sure most of the teams that are beating them are still in the process of figuring themselves out. There’s no excuse for a team that won 18 games last year to be this freakin’ bad.
Remember the famous loss to Eckerd, how does the Monmouth loss compare ? I think we lost to a Div 2 team once, when Mullins was a coach, like Florida A&T, or another Florida team that is now D1.
NinerID, your “conclusion” is one of the funniest things I’ve read on this board.
LMAO
WH pulls no punches after yet another stinker by Fordham:
This loss falls on Whit, not just the AD. He failed to shore up this roster and get a real point guard while Dunston has been running in place for three years. This team doesn’t look as tough, confident and aggressive, either. Robert Morris shot 57%! Where the heck is the defense?
Clearly, the Rams are by far the biggest disappointment in the league. If they don’t get their act together now, I sure hope they don’t once conference play begins. I hate to say or think that, but it reflects my intense disappointment. I am wondering how Fordham managed to beat Manhattan on the road.
Is Binns injured, and what’s up with Stout? What a mess this team is right now. I am not even sure Fordham is better than LaSalle or Bonaventure. LaSalle plays better defense and the Bonnies are playing with more heart and energy.
…and, yes, NinerID’s conclusions are as good of an explaination as any.:unhappy:

Actually I think it was Robert Goulet

I still think that Jim Utter and Matt Sweirad are playing a cruel joke on us, and we really won that game. I haven’t seen any video footage, so I will just say that game never happened.

I just won’t respond to that…

I can deal with GW losing… the rest of those losses are awful. Sacred Heart? Robert Morris? Jesus.
VCU has a great coach, if I were ever an AD at a slightly larger school and was looking for a coach I’d hire Anthony Grant.

I still want to see what he does his first year without Maynor. If he wins then, he’s as good as advertised.
Just worried that Maynor is a once per career type of talent. But I will say that Grant makes in-game adjustments to give his teams a chance to win.

In spite of the loss of Travis King, GW shouldn’t be losing to Auburn in what was basically a home game for the Colonials. From WH’s weekly rankings, sounds like Mo Rice is really underachieving thus far.

They had a video link on the A10 boards and I caught bits and pieces of the 1st half. The loss of Travis King is KILLING them. His assist/turnover ratio was terrific last year and he figured to be a great PG replacement for Carl Elliot.
As it is now, the team is so lost and it’s unbelievably obvious. There’s been a lot written about the gaping hole at point guard and I can now see why. Mo Rice isn’t budging from SG (and his underachieving might have a lot to do with the problems at PG), so they are rotating in players like 6’7" Wynton Witherspoon and Xavier Alexander (who I believe started) as floor generals. It’s pretty ridiculous.
The sad thing was that GW looked better than Auburn in most other aspects. Enough to win the game, certainly. XA is an impressive freshman and he seems to like attacking the basket and has a good interior game. He’s just not a point guard.
Looks like the BB&T was a total washout for the “home” teams as GW, George Mason, and Maryland all lost. The Patriots loss to the Pirates is a real head scratcher!
Hmmm…

He almost went to Florida after last year. If Donovan had gone to the pros, many thought Grant would replace him.
