Interesting read back in 2006 when Pepperdine hired Walberg. He really praises Gerrity in this press release.

How the mighty have fallen in the WAC. Pepperdine used to be scary good not all that many years ago with quite a list of succesful Coaches - Westphal, Romar, Harrick, etc.

I watched part of their game against Gonzaga the other night as I went to sleep. It was ugly. Gonzaga was up 23-9 when I quit watching, and it looked like a game between the haves and have-nots. Pepperdine had nowhere near the talent Gonzaga has. They have fallen big time over the last 4-5 years.

As the press release I linked pointed out, Walberg was definitely anticipating having a squad anchored by Gerrity. Hmmm…
