Gohkan Sirin to transfer

Looking at D2 or going back home.
I would think that he could at least go to a low D1.
So somewhere like ECU? :p
Nugget, you beat me to it.

Gokkan,

GĂŒle gĂŒle ve iyi ßanslar!

going to nc state. lutz would love to have his 40+% 3pt shooter.

I’d have to believe if he’s looking at D2 its simply because he doesn’t want to sit out a year. Remember, we got him because he didn’t want to redshirt at Georgetown. He has flaws in his game but he is 6’9 and is a legitimate shooter, unlike many others that have had that label.

Everyone’s already said what he needs to work on and we saw this coming.

Best of luck Ghokan. Confident that you’ll find your niche somewhere.

Good luck to Mr. Sirin. Thanks for your time in a Charlotte uni. May you find a program that can better utilize your game.

Aston leaves, then Gohkan
its been a really sad week in my world

Gokhan was my favorite player. Good luck to him, wherever he ends up.

Honestly I wouldn’t mind having him after what I saw of him here in Gville because 6-9 guys that can shoot it from halfcourt don’t grow on trees. Certainly a lot worse players to take chances on and I think Lebo could have got a lot more out of the guy than Major did last year. We played a slow 6-6 200 lb guard who couldnt’ dribble, pass or defend at PF last year. All Abrams really did well was shoot and was ineffective at guard, but he played in a position where bigger slower players guarding him couldn’t get out there to defend him on offense and he hit 70 three’s at about 40% and was really dangerous on offense at PF. Someone could probably get some nice production out of Sirin at the 4 on offense and enough rebounding and defense there with his height in the right system. Just got to play to the players strenghts and I still think there is a place for that guy to be successful from what I saw and his numbers on some team if used correctly.

Reminded me of Vlad Moldoveanu. 6-9, 215 went from playing 10 minutes a game and averaging 2 points at George Mason to putting up 20 and 6 at American. He could have helped a lot of schools in the right system.

Go play in traffic, StillJonesing.

Back home and has signed a pro contract.

So do Turkish pro teams not play defense? :))
