Heâs not a bad player, though. Can at least shoot, which is better than some of our âspecialistsâ have done. Good luck, Sirin.
Well, thatâs two open schollies now. Lets see what we can do with it. Best scenario would be a big guy who can play next year and maybe a high talent transfer who has to sit out.
Glad to hearâŚalthough I hope it works out for Sirin as well! We all knew this wasnât working nor did he fit. I honestly donât think this kid is even D1 material but many would disagree with me.
I wonder if heâll use the transfer year to bulk up some. Thatâs what Iâd hoped Sirin would do for us, but oh well. Heâs a talented shooter. In my view, his best position would be to play pf on defense (with a bunch of added muscle) where he could better deal with the opposing playerâs speed, and more on the wing on offense where he could stretch opposing defenses. Good luck to him.
Canât say as I blame him. When your team is down to 8 scholarship players, youâre one of them and a sophomore and still get no playing time, itâs time for a new program. Donât know all of the details or circumstances, but if I was in Gokhanâs shoes and desired to actually get some PT I would leave also. I just hope we avoid scheduling whichever school he transfers to.
My instinct says if he didnât bulk up with us he isnât going to do that for other teams. He was a good shooter and very tall. Itâs simple, he just needed to work on his defense and gain muscle. He was a little better on defense last yearâŚmaybe⌠but he didnât look like he added any weight at all.
We need physical players. I am glad we are recruiting physical players. I hope they are as mentally tough as they are physically. We need that.
Looking at D2 or going back home.
I would think that he could at least go to a low D1.
This. Maybe he doesnât want to sit a year, which would by why heâs considering DII? His game may have had big holes, be he could be a solid role player for somebody.

Sirin will do fine at an App State caliber team
Take off the green glasses⌠App state > Charlotte sadly
wowâŚplease tell me this was sarcastic⌠???
Nope. Heâs right. App State would have been smart enough to hire Chuck Amato. Therefore, better.
