Way To Go Niners!!!

I did not realize they were playing 2 rounds today. The 9ers are a group of 5 very consistent golfers. I understand we have very good golfers at home just waiting to break the top 5. I am so proud of our team!!

I went out to my club after work this evening to practice and mentioned it to our pros and a few of the shop workers. A couple of them already knew, but a few didn’t.

Get some rest tonight boys and kick some a$$ tomorrow!!! Regards, Oldniner

My bad dax, I didn’t realize they were playing 2 rounds today either. Guess I should have checked it before I spoke, but WAY TO GO 9ers.

To win this tournament would be huge because there was a lot of talk that our win at the preview was a little tainted because some of the big dogs (mainly stanford) didn’t show. This should shut any of those naysayers up.

:wow:  Way to go guys! Showing 'em you deserve that #1!! Go Niners! Keep it up!

clt could not be prouder…too bad we cannot buy any niner golf gear to support the guys.

All tee times are at 10:30 EDT. I hope having Minnesota in this pairing doesn’t drag the 49ers down.

AT least Trevor Murphy is in the presence of 49ers… (two guys ranked 49th in the tourney as of tee time)

Here’s what we printed:

And here’s what your SID sent us:

Charlotte senior Andrew DiBitetto is tied for second individually at -5. Corey Nagy and Jonas Enander Hedin are tied for 13th at one-under par.

The 49ers have won both of their season-opening events to become the nation’s top-ranked team: The Scenic City Invitational and the PING/Golfweek Preview. The Preview included 13 top 25 teams and six top 10 teams including Alabama, which had held the top spot in the rankings.

The 49ers golf team is the first in school history to be ranked #1 in the nation.

clt edits as if we were unc-ch:

The Charlotte 49ers #1-ranked ( of course they are number 1, all hail charlotte) men’s golf team holds a commanding four-stroke lead after just two rounds at The Prestige at the incredibly tough Greg Norman Course in La Qunita, Calif. Charlotte is currently 10-under par, one of just two teams to better par, but expects to be 20 under par very soon. The event is co-hosted by little known schools Stanford and UC-Davis. Stanford, inconceivably the defending NCAA Champion, is way behind at +2. Central Florida is practically irrelevant in second at -6. The third and final round will be played Tuesday, but it is a moot point as Charlotte has this wrapped up.

Charlotte senior Andrew DiBitetto is tied for second individually at -5. Corey Nagy and Jonas Enander Hedin are tied for 13th at one-under par. Both are expected to go pro soon and sign with the bobcats in some role.

The 49ers golf team is the first in school history to be ranked #1 in the nation, which is shocking considering just how great this place is.

Absolutely hilarious… but you forgot this part:

unc-chapel hill fans, read all about your team's performance on page 14

Tiger, the Shark, Arnold Palmer, & Bob Jones, etc. are our bee-atches!!!

I am proud of our team for becoming #1, I appreciate the coverage, and I am most impressed that carrying the #1 ranking into this tournament they did not collapse under pressure but instead kicked it up a notch. That must be hard to do.

Mike P, it is beginning to look like we are not a fluke. Any chance that a story on the golf team will happen? Local team, #1 ranking, coming off of #3 in the NCAA tournament last year, golf coach came to us from UNC-CH. See, something for everyone.

Wait, we’re only 9 up on Stanford and they have a few holes left. I think if they make hole in ones on every hole…nope, still not possible. We are the SHIZNIT!!!

So when are them Titleist bee-atches giving us our hats?
I should go online, & order me a unauthorized 49er t-shirt that says UNC-CH is scared of Charlotte golf. Or maybe I can say Stanford or Duke.
