Heck, I’ll tag along…We just need to plan this in advance so I can go ahead and request my vacation days.

I snuck down to the lower deck …close to the floor …and must say I was so proud seeing all the students making so much noise. The Wake fans were very impressed! and nervous that at times we seemed to dominate the cheering.
Niner Nations was making their voices loud and clear.

Heck yeah we were! That’s what Niner Nation’s all about dude!

hmmmm…

GREAT JOB by our fans today. If we only had won! The entire building was full of Niner noise and support, but the upstairs section above the Wake students was great. Very loud the entire game. We were downstairs and the Wake fans in front of me kept looking up at that section and shaking their heads in disgust. I loved it. I also don’t think they liked me hooting and hollering while sitting behind them too much. They acted like they were at a tennis match.
We are NINER NATION!
I’m near the top left corner in the glasses and cap.

My buddy and I (someone this board has hated for 3 years but is a true diehard Charlotte fan) sat in the front row today behind the scorer’s table and pretty much behind Lutz. We sat right beside the Chancellor of UNCC and 2 rows in front of the Wake President. I have to say our fans were definitely heard; particularly the NinerNation in the second level; it was very loud and I applaud you guys. Amazing! We were getting yelled at all game by Wake Fans because were were standing up and cheering/screaming (got to love it!). I’m sure our chancellor was amazed/dismayed at the way my buddy and I were cheering but oh well; it’s called passion. Our fans definitely showed up (unfortunately our players didn’t) but was still a fun game to attend.

Think this game might have helped recruiting in this area?

Do you remember that we lost to the worst team in the ACC? How does that help recruiting for anyone we would want?

My biggest desire is to bring the same intensity and atmosphere to the home games, as we did to Wake today in the upper sections. It’s hard to though when our students here at home stand with their hands on their hips. But our crowd rocked the Joel. Too bad our team couldn’t do the same. The 250-300 people we had in our upper section were ridiculous. Perfect unison on our chants and the “N-I-N-E-R-S” chant was priceless. And Chancelor seemed like he really enjoyed himself when he came up to visit. It’s hard to be positive after a loss. Especially one that we wanted so bad. But today I really felt apart of a Nation…

NINER NATION

I was at the game… the suite in section 104. I saw the mass grouping in the upper deck section as it was happening, waving everyone over. GREAT idea whoever started that. The only thing I wish is that they had stole the “left/right/sitdown” chant when gray fouled out. that woulda been priceless. The couple of wake fans in the suite when the “we can’t hear you” started, all had this “ouch” look on their face that was definately worth it. a great showing by the fans of CLT basketball… too bad the players couldn’t put it together in the same manner.

We actually did try that…but it didn’t work for some reason. The place was too loud to get something started that quickly since it wasn’t that far for him to walk.

Some Wake fans are now concerned that we may have hurt their recruiting yesterday.

The Wake fans are still discussing NINER NATION fans on their board. One thread is up to about 10 pages, one thread is on about the 5th page, a couple of other discussions are on about the third page. There may be a couple of others out there as well.

One thing is for sure. We made an impression.

Is it possible that a game can hurt both teams’ recruiting?

Can’t wait to go back up there whenever the next game is and take over again. People were complaining we signed a 2-for-1 deal with them, but we will probably end up getting 3 home games out of the deal if we show up like we did yesterday next time we play there.

Only the next time, they will make sure that Niner Nation will be spread out very thin.

From the Serious Question… thread:

Jesus Christ, that school has like 20,000 students and about 150 of them drove an hour to a basketball game. What's the big @#%$ deal? Aside from that a lot of them were probably already closer to W-S than Charlotte because the school's so lame and everyone goes home on the weekend to screw their Davie County Hich School girlfriends.
I don't know if we can compare the two. First off, how many students does UNCC have? Isn't this their biggest OCC game, if not biggest game period, of the year in many ways?
And we're comparing apples to oranges here too. This game was their Super Bowl. They were playing an in-state ACC team, which is something that only happens for them about every 3 or 4 years, with a chance to win against a program that has obviously going through a rough stretch. Yet, they couldn't do it. They brought maybe 150 students who formed a block in the worst seats in the arena and had a few hundred other people spread out across the arena. What's the big deal? You can congratulate those gomers all you want and stroke your UNC-C wife's ego after a loss, but the UNC-C fan's attendance is really little more than a footnote to this game.

Yes, playing a 1-9 last place ACC team is our biggest game of the year… our “super bowl” so to speak.

We were spread out very thin yesterday. We all had the upper 4/5 rows all around the place. 6 of us went over to 201 (or whatever section it was) and started getting everybody else over there. Of course if they are good next time we go there then there won’t be a completely empty section like there was yesterday, but we’ll figure something out. The Wake ticket people tried to screw us by giving us nothing together, good idea, but thankfully their lack of fan support allowed us to get together and take over.
Are you kidding??? Not a damn thing to be proud of today, at least as far as the Charlotte 49ers men’s basketball team is concerned.QUOTE]

all people do is bitch about us not having enough support and getting loud enough for our team. then when we show excellent support, ON THE ROAD, there is always going to be some a-hole that has to starting crying and complaining again…

and who said something about the ticket system only supports people who camp out?? idoit, with 6 campouts thats only 24 points. If someone had gone to most all the games in the fall they would have more points then just campers, especially because the camping arent jsut alloted all at once, but spread over the season. arent you people tired of bitching about the new system??

THANK TO JIMMY FOR GETTING THE PREGAME DETAILS WORKED OUT AT FOX AND HOUND!! YOU BROUGHT WAY MORE THAN THEY EXPECTED!!!

AND THANKS TO CMACK! FROM WHAT I REMEMBER HE WAS THE ONE THAT ORIGINALLY STARTED WAVING ALL THE NINER FANS OVER TO SECTION 239 SO WE COULD BE TOGETHER. IF WE WERE ALL SPREAD OUT, THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN NO WAY WE WOULD HAVE BEEN AS LOUD AS WE WHERE YESTERDAY! SOMEONE NEEDS TO BUY THE SECTION OUT NEXT YEAR!
