Having read the Wake Board and talked to several people who watched the game on tv, I believe that Niner Nation took over LJVM today. Unfortunately we didn’t come out with the win but our student section should be applauded for being loud. If we could only get this kind of support in Halton, it could be the start of something great. GO NINERS!!!

It wasn’t all students, alums were in that bunch… a 48-year old one at that!

And some damn Mexican - AyeAyeAyeAye…
I saw quite a few Alums in that section - so students don’t deserve ALL of the credit. Even some of us sit-on-our-butts-during-games Alums were up there cheering with the best of them.
That was a great job by everyone, that’s for sure. Even with the loss, it should be a proud day for Niner Nation.

HUH !!!
Are you kidding??? Not a damn thing to be proud of today, at least as far as the Charlotte 49ers men’s basketball team is concerned.
Its sounds like you implying that “we lost, but had good fan support” is acceptable.
Bernie Bickerstaff had it right when he criticized the Bobcats own PA Announcer for promoting a 3 game winning streak. It was BS to celebrate over the PA.
Did you attend/watch today’s game with intent of the team winning or having loud fan support? Sure the fan support in W-S was nice BUT THE ONLY ACCEPTABLE THING TO CELEBRATE RELATED TO TODAY’S GAME WAS VICTORY.

We need to work on that “AyeAyeAyeAye” a little.
As an alum, may I ask one a question to the students? If you can be so unified today, which was awesome, why can it not be the same in Halton? The atmosphere in that upeer section was electric.
I sit in the 200’s when I’m at Halton and it seems the majority of the crowd in there is really chilled out. I would love to yell and scream like y’all in the lower portion.

That’s because of the current seating/points system, we can’t get our rowdiest fans all together (why I miss Gang Green). Honestly, the system we’re in now just rewards people who camp out. I know I went to every single event I could (which was most of them), but I’m back on row F while people who went to no other events but camped are in front of me.

Because there was so much quiet time today. At our games most people are yelling at somebody (refs or coaches) the whole time so we can’t spread out the chants as easily. Just yell something out you wanted to start and people would catch on immediately. Also having the bottom row to have a leader type person stand where all can see was quite helpful.
Plus, we don’t play Wake everyday, and once it was obvious we were louder than them, it just provided more motivation to get loud and see all of the Wake students turn around and flip us off.
I did like the “We can’t hear you…” although I thought it was premature (which it was). I know that the Wake student section missed a PERECECT opportunity to return it when Wake went up for good. I was fully expecting to hear it back - at least on the way out. Nothing though.
Yeah, it was pretty funny. They kinda did respond to that though when they yelled “Sit Down”. I’m exhausted though.

We need to form a group like they did at Wake. I’m in 216 and would love to stand and yell and scream. I can do 2 out of the 3 already.

Win or lose their fans were horrible until the last minute. I don’t get waiting for chants like “we can’t hear you!” or “Niners home game!”, we were louder than them, win or lose. We weren’t rubbing the score in their face, just the fact that their fans sucked. They got the last laugh, but as you said, their complete lack of throwing that in our face shows how poor they were, at least today.

I’m for that. It seems the only time the fans in the 200’s get hyped, it’s cuz somebody made a huge play. We need to be hyped ALL THE TIME!!! Somebody get a copy of that Wake game to all Charlotte students!!! (I’d like one, too cuz I wanna see if I can hear myself!)

Honestly, if we could get a group going in the GA seats that was as good as Wake, I’d definitely leave my lower student seat. There’s just absolutely no atmosphere at all down there.
With their students having the end zone section near the opponents’ bench, you would think that they would have been merciless.

You know, the way I felt after I cheered with the folks up top (exhausted), I should feel that after every game, even in the GA seats! I wish more excitable fans would show up to our games.
when carolina, duke, vurginia, virginia tech, clemson, nc state go to wake, it isn’t anythig like it was today
how many other schools bcan go into an acc school and comppletly take over the arena?..wake wasnt expecting more the 50 charlotte fans to show up
…huge kudos to the Niner Nation member with the green wig sitting in Section 110 row V seat 1 or 2 or 3. The guy was cracking me up. He was really pi$$ing off the Wake fans around him.:lmao:
Somebody needs to organize a “Niner Nation” Bus or 2 or 17 and maybe we should just tour the country taking over arena after arena… UNTIL EVERYONE IS GREEN!!! MO AH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA!
