I think this was mentioned in another thread, but I thought it deserved its own. Coach Ratliff sounds like he will prove to be a great hire. http://wvgazette.com/Sports/Marshall/201205270119?page=1&build=cache
Are the WV papers our new hometown papers?
We are getting more coverage there than we do down here.
The article on Ratliff is a great read.
Great article. It just goes to show that David Scott just doesn’t give a damn about us except that he collects a paycheck
Charlotte isn't planning to enter C-USA as a punching bag.
Not with Ratliff in the 49ers’ corner.
Those are beautiful words.
Not just Scott, but all local media, wfnz, etc. >:D

You gents mean to tell me all this time mikey P does not care about us, either? He was just wanted to come in here pretend to like us so he can sell his fishwrapper? ;D
I am excited that we have hired a staff with so much FBS and BCS experience. Was reading an article about UTSA and they have hardly any. I think we will have an easier transition into FBS, especially since they are making the jump after 1 year and we will at least have 2 years of FCS.
Only two of Coker’s nine assistants have prior full-time coaching experience on the F.B.S. level. The first is offensive line coach Jim Marshall, whose 35-year coaching career has led through UTEP, Louisiana Tech, Wyoming and Arkansas State. Prior to joining Coker last season, Marshall was the offensive coordinator at Incarnate Word, a Division-II program in, coincidentally enough, San Antonio. Marshall saved money on moving, I’d imagine. The second is defensive line coach Eric Roark, who was an assistant at S.M.U. from 2002-7. Prior to joining U.T.S.A., the remaining seven assistants were at Permian High School, Texas State, Central Arkansas, New Mexico State as a strength and conditioning assistant, Texas as a quality control assistant, Midwestern State and Drake.
Not just FBS experience but BCS experience with Lambert, Mullen and Tall. Huge get for us to have that kind of experience already on the staff.

Once again, we are LUCKY AS HELL, to have all of what we have at this time. Enjoy! I do.
To me it seems that things have just fallen right into place very easily so far and it makes me very hopeful when we start recruiting the higher caliber FBS players.
