Nice pub in Jeff Goodman’s blog…
Lutz got a look at his squad earlier this month on a Labor Day trip to Canada and was impressed with the lack of effort.??? Tell me that's a typo.
haha yeah Im sure that is some kind of typo. Unless our new plan is to be lazy, and we were really good at it…
“Lutz was impressed with the LACK OF EFFORT.” ???
Maybe it’s just me getting old. Does anyone understand that?
I am getting old…it took me 4 minutes to type that, evidently. NLP’s post wasn’t there when I started!
We put in too much effort last year, whereas big-name teams costed through a lot of their games and still made the NCAA tournament. So our new plan is to cost through all of our games. Duh.

You mean coast…??? Arent you the english guy?
backup point guard Michael Gerrity
No wonder he left.
Lutz said Gerrity’s departure – although it was cordial – caught him completely off-guard"It was shocking,” Lutz said. “I’ve been in this business a long time, but this was strange. I just hope Mike finds what he’s looking for.”
Interesting to hear more about this from Coach

That’s a great Lutz Live question, but I doubt we hear anything more than what we already know.
Lots of good things in that article that I hope we see this season. Balanced scoring, an improved Phil Jones, etc.
Big point that I would agree with Lutz, Harris has gotta stay healthy and we need someone to step up in the backup role when he’s not in there.

Noticed that it’s fixed this morning…

what is that guy talking about KJ not making all his visits? He visited other schools on his list and then made a decision to come here.
You figure it outHow can a 3 time State Champ down play the Phenoms. : Tuesday, September 09, 2008 5:51 AM
I have the up most respect for Coach Gurley but, not in this instance. How can a man who is a state champion down play the success of a newly introduced organization thats whole purpose is to get kids recognition and prepare them for the next level in life. What Gurley didn’t mention is how K.J. got a invite to Dave Taleb’s carolina challenge because of his AAU coaches, K.J. was the number 1 player at the Rock Roundball Review by Bob Smith a recruiting guru, and how the Phenoms had the big names such as the Charlotte Royals sweating bullets and only losing to the eventual state champ by 5 points if people like Coach Gurley and the community supported organizations like the Phenoms it would be even more success here locally. But, when you dealing with ego maniacs this is what you get. I’m disappointed in Coach Gurley, I suggest who ever composed this article should have contacted somebody who was there and knows what really took place. Coach Gurley is a Coach who was blessed with great talent when he won back to back at West. I give him great credit for winning at Lexington with Bernard MacIntosch and the late Tedric Jenkins but, he is no basketball god and he is a terrible people’s person. Let’s talk about how VA Tech, NC State, Boston College, Georgia, and other schools recently came in the picture and when they called Coach Gurley he wouldn’t even have the decency of answering or returning some of these schools phone calls. Some of these schools never heard of K.J. until nationals and once they started inquiring about K.J. that’s when UNCC made an offer and rushed K.J. by saying they are going to start recruiting other kids if K.J. didn’t sign early. When after prep stars and the elite camp both at UNCC they were still unsure if he could play on that level but, as soon as NC State, Georgia, Auburn, VA Tech, and other big name started showing interest he comes an offer from UNCC. I love the Sherrill kid and I wish nothing but the best for him. I just wish the kid would have made all his visits and enjoyed the entire recruiting process. Coach Gurley dropped the ball once again because he rushed K.J. into making the decision. It seems like Scooter would have advised K.J. into making a wiser decision. I am stunned that he made his verbal before even visiting the other schools. If you gon tell something Tell the Truth. No one mentions how Kaleb Kimber, Hunter Morrison, Keith Rendlemen, Brandon Abel, Drew Absher all of whom are getting D’1 and D’2 looks. This is one of the best organizations that could have happen for this community. Somebody needs to check Coach Gurley you know Mr. Know it all if he knew it all why did he support Scooter going to play in a Princeton style offense under Herb Sendek at NC State. Keep listening to everything Coach Gurley says and see where you end up! Before I go Gurley is saying K.J. and family wanted to K.J. to stay close to home but, is that really a big deal when Jamel Carpenter is down in Jacksonville, Fla playing JUCO ball. That’s some of the truth and if you want the rest contact somebody that knows what they are talking about!

What a freaking idiot, I will bet you money that he is a UNC-R fan and he’s pissed that KJ didn’t choose hell. Scooter probably told him not to go to UNC-R, that’s what this idiot doesn’t understand.
That sounds like serious sour grapes from an AAU coach that was hoping to capitalize on him.
Really low class to post that mess.
In any case, welcome to Charlotte KJ, we’re excited to see you in green!
Thanks guys. Clearly had some link problems
