Great News for Jags

Here’s some great news for SmoothieKing’s and my favorite play-by-play voice in 49ers history:

In addition, the Nationals are close to signing broadcasters Charlie Slowes and Dave Jageler to be their play-by-play voices on the Washington Post Radio network, according to two baseball sources.

It will be the second season with the Nationals for Slowes, who has been a broadcaster for more than 20 years and is best known as being the play-by-play voice for the Devil Rays and Washington Bullets (NBA).

Jageler will replace Dave Shea, who was relieved of his duties last week. Jaegler was the play-by-play voice of the Pawtucket Red Sox last season and once had a radio show in Boston. He graduated from Syracuse University.

Jags is real good at calling baseball. Matt is real good as well, I think baseball is far better suited to his style.

Are there any Charlotte area radio station that carry Washington’s games? If not, were is a good place on the net?

Nothing beats Jags calling a Charlotte-Cincy game, “What a bunch of thugs”. I always thought he was a 49er though, didnt even know he went to Cuse.

You can get every MLB game all season on MLB.com for $15 bucks. I’ve done it the past 2 years and have really enjoyed it. You can choose which team’s broadcast you want. It’s interesting listening to the different announcers in the league.

Heard that Dave Jaegler was moving up as announcer for the Pawtucket Red Sox to the big leagues this spring. He’ll be paired with Charlie Slowes to announce for the Washington Nationals. Not sure if it has been officially announced yet, but was mentioned by the GM for the Norfolk Tides on his weekly appearance on local sports radio this afternoon. If true, congrats to Jags. Another Niner to the top!!
