greg doyle mention

greg doyle - “The only reason Charlotte beat Davidson – the only reason – was Brendan Plavich, who scored 23 points in the final 10½ minutes, including some absolutely ridiculous 3-pointers.” (page two on the story link below)

I think he must have missed all the picks and drive and dish passes made to get him open as Brendan doesn’t exactly make his own shot.

But he’s right, that night Brendan was pretty much the only reason we won.

Sure, we might still win without his explosion, but no one else on the team stepped up and he did.

Did the page change, or am I just looking in the wrong place?

I saw that and thought it was him sticking up for Plav.

But I wonder if he noticed that Plav started going off when we were already up 5 in the second half?

it's on page 2.. there's a tiny link towards the end.

Thanks

I am glad Plavich did win it for us. There are certain games each year when a player will just take over and “win” it.

Why is that??

Another mention from Gregg Doyel (MinerNiner, that’s spelled G-R-E-G-G D-O-Y-E-L B) )…

From Hawaii to Maryland and all manner of stops in between, high-major coaches around the country sent out an S-O-S after last season. But you know coaches. Can’t spell.

So their S-O-S came out more like J-U-C-O.

Nonetheless, in many cases the S-O-S was answered – many, but not all. Here’s a look at 15 schools who dipped into the junior college ranks for help this season, from first to worst…

…Charlotte: E.J. Drayton is taking some of the interior burden off Curtis Withers, producing 10.6 ppg and 4.9 rpg for the 49ers (5-2).[/b]

BTW, that Charlotte entry is 7th of 14/15 entries (Memphis and Maryland tied for last place).
