Rounds 1 and 2 here at the Charlotte Coliseum ? I don’t think the Niners will get placed here but you never know. The games are on Friday and Sunday. The big unknown of course is where and when we will play.
When we played ND in Greenville a couple of years ago I attempted to get tickets through the foundation but apparently wasn’t high enough on the list to make it in the lower bowl.
My dad and I wound up siting near the top but could still see pretty good. Davidson is hosting this site and I’m not sure if they are sold out yet or not.
I’ve been eyeballing a few online sites. If we’re in Nashville, Cleveland or Charlotte, I hope to get tickets. MK said you can get them on Ebay as well, from when people who bought in advance, sell after they realize their team isn’t in a particular region. I had no problem with Greenville but it’s a bit easier to come back to Charlotte empty handed from there than it is Nashville or Cleveland. Not sure I want to gamble on scalpers with those two sites.
The Charlotte site isn’t listed as “Sold Out” so I’m assuming you can. And the purchase form on that site is active but I wasn’t quite prepared to commit to tickets just yet to know for sure. I may take a gamble on it this week and just sell them if we don’t end up here. My gut tells me we won’t unless we’re a 3 or 4 and even then we may still not be protected.
Went to the NCAA first round games in Orlando last year. Crowd wasn’t near a sellout, so I ended up getting 2 tickets (for both sets of games) for $40 a piece, I think. And we had good seats.
I’m likely headed up to Charlotte for these games as well, unless we get sent nearby, in which case I’d try to head there. But unless a UNC and Wake/Duke get sent to Charlotte, would the event really be that popular? I’m planning on rolling the dice and trying to get a scalper to get me in.
I’m waiting to see where we get seeded before trying to buy tickets.
If we get to play in Charlotte and Wake is the only other team from NC, tickets should be very plentiful. In that situation, some of the tarhole fans already holding tickets will be trying to ditch them ASAP. Actually, Duke and Wake together will not fill up the Charlotte Coliseum.
You can usually find tickets at most places. You can often get tickets from someone whose team is playing at a different time & then of course get them after teams lose. It was even possible to get tickets in Winston-Salem the year Dean Smith tied and broke the all-time winning record (I was rooting against the tarholes in both games).
In Greenville, we got tickets through the NCAA after the school sold all of theirs, and this was with Duke, Notre Dame, and Alabama (closer to Greenville than Charlotte) playing.
we would have to be a favorite for the 1st and 2nd round games. So we need to be a 4 seed or better. One never knows… If they don’t put unc here I think we have a chance. Wake wouldn’t draw enough to fill it up so they would need to perk it with us.
I ordered them last April and have yet to see my tickets. Davidson confirmed that all pre-ordered tickets were mailed Jan 19th. Still, nothing has appeared in my mailbox. Davidson said to wait until March 7th. If I have not seen them by then, call them back and they will call the coliseum and issue “Seat Locator’s”, whatever that is.
It seems at that price they would have sent them UPS or FedEx.

If most locations are sold out or near sold out in advance, will the selection committee even consider "draw"?
According to the ESPN brackets the Charlotte games are the 1 vs 16 seed and the 8 vs 9 seed so unless we get a #1 seed (doubtful) I hope we don’t play here cuz that would mean we drop to 8 or 9 seed.

49Cents-
FYI for you…I ordered mine through Davidson last year and received my tickets about 3-4 weeks ago via USPS.

The ESPN bracket it total speculation, at this point nobody knows where anyone will be or what seeds will be at each location.
