This is no lie. Everyone knows Henry was a steal by Mullins and his staff. Greatest player to ever wear our uniform and a great all round human being…
We were on a 49er club charter bus coming back from a tough Va Tech road trip and I was talking to Judy about
how sad it was that Henrys career here was almost over. On an earlier road trip to Butler, the city of Indianapolis had declared it “Heny Williams Day” and had a big celebration and gave Henry the key to the city. Great honor for a great man!
Judy said…“we really should do something for Henry as well”
I know it’s beating a dead horse…but damn.
I have never forgotten that. We did celebrate him, but it seems it was an afterthought.
I do hope there will be recognition this coming season…the HW34 patch is an awesome idea.
Maybe Brice will wind up here and carry on his legacy !
His funeral service will be this Sunday in Halton Arena.

New to the forum and just came across this HW tribute. What a great dude, would often play pick up ball with him in the mineshaft or out door courts in the off season. Great memories, HW was our baby Jordan. RIP Niner brother

I still believe the athletic department should organize to nominate him to the NC sports hall of fame. The best on and off the court!

Completely agree. Our university is way under represented in the Hall compared to much smaller schools with less accomplished athletes.

Yes, that needs to happen. Is his son Bryce still at Nebraska ?
