Hernol Hall (6'10, C/PF) - 2006

He is a 6โ€™10, 245 lb. C/PF from Lon Morris Juco and originally from Limon, Costa Rica.

I had never heard of this kid nor was he ever on the radar before now. He originally verballed to Duquesne back in September and decided to stick to his committment even after the departure of Danny Nee. He also had offers from Charlotte, Cincy, Georgia, Ohio State and Oklahoma. Wake Forest, Kansas and Maryland were also involved with him back in the fall before he verballed.

I have nothing else on him and if we were ever in serious contention.

Looks like he has been released from is LOI.

Duquesne University announced, at 2:35 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, that the school has granted Hernol Hall a release from the National Letter of Intent he signed with Duquesne last November. The Limon, Costa Rico native finished his sophomore season at Lon Morris College in Texas as the the Co-MVP of the NJCAA Region XIV. Hall averaged 14.3 points, 10.0 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.3 steals. He shot 61.8 percent overall (123-199), 37.5% beyond the arc (3/8) and 64.3 percent from the charity stripe (90/140) in 24 of LMCโ€™s 28 games. Hall also was named an NJCAA All-American.

We may be in the mix for him but so are a bunch of high majors now.

Per the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review:

Oklahoma, Georgia, Cincinnati, Ohio State and Kentucky are some of the schools that have inquired about Hall. Because Hall wasn't released from his conference scholarship, he will not be able to sign with another Atlantic 10 school.

What exactly is a conference scholarship and why is the Atlantic 10 allowing him to retain the scholarship?

He recently visited Cincinnati and will be visiting Gonzaga and Oklahoma. Sounds like that is his final 3 so weโ€™re out of the running, but not sure how much we were ever in it though I know we were interested.

Commits to Cinci (vomit)
