HIH is back in town, and unfortunately, there is no game this week.
I will be at the Bobcats game tonight … anyone going?

How about just sticking around for the rest of the home games? The new guy is way too melodramatic. Someone needs to tell him it’s a college game and not the NBA. I appreciate the enthusiasm but it’s overdone. Sometimes less is more.
On a related note, can someone please coordinate the PA guy with the pep band? During the Valpo game, the band was playing when the PA guy decided to announce all the relevant scores around the country. Couldn’t hear a single word he said. By the way: the band is much improved this year with the song selections. Thank you for playing some new titles and doing away with some that needed put to rest.
HIH, you could always pull a Jeff Gillooly and hire someone to take out the PA guy before the game so you can step in. 
I’ll settle for a closed door meeting where the new guy finally learns how to pronounce our guys’ names correctly.

I went. Nothing has changed. The NBA game is still pretty boring. That “defensive 3 seconds” technical foul may be the most stupid rule in all of sports.

I definitely think that less is more when it comes to announcing. The PA guy should solemnly give the name and let the crowd do the rest. UNCCTF would be the best choice. Also, the player introductions don’t need emphasis either. Its the crowds job to cheer, not the mic guy, plus A-10 rules say “no cheerleading” by the announcers. Let’s hope they crackdown.

I went to the arena last night, and I was disappointed. Now, I need to make a disclaimer: I negotiated one of the sponsor deals for the arena, so I saw all of the designs.
A couple of words that describe the arena to me: sparse and disjointed. I just got the feeling that 700 people independently designed all of the areas. There is little flow. Plus, there is so much empty space in that place, they better get a naming rights partner soon. And still having construction dust on the windows is sad.
Ugh, another opportunity for our great city to truly break out of the mold, and we fall far short.
We’ve had two different announcers this year. One of the guys calls Leeeemire, Luhmeer.

I’m the PA guy for football and basketball where I teach, plus doing Niner baseball this spring, and I’m pretty sure I could blow the new guy out of the water. Give TF the mic!
