Maybe I missed another thread about this, but that was the worst student attendance ever at a Homecoming game. I saw hardly any fraternites or sororities, who usually show up in big groups for HC. Were they having parties at Greek Village, and just bagged the game, or what? Very disappointing.
Niner Nation was great, as usual, but the rest of the student attendance was pathetic.

I agree. It was the worst attendance I’ve seen since Halton opened. Sucky team = sucky attendance. A sad fact of life.
I am just going on record here as saying that homecoming has no business happening at a basketball game. Homecoming is for football.
The dunk by Coley at the end of the first half was worth the price of admission, not to mention the 15 assist-1 TO game by Harris. Hey, even the bumping and exchange of words between Ngoundjo and GW’s Katuka was entertaining, though the ref should have called a double foul instead of singling out Gaby!

Also, I was the guy that shot for the Griffin Brothers prize and totally tanked it. I’m glad the people that did come paid to see the game and not my awful performance.

Frats and sororities haven’t been showing up for 3+ years.
I just hope people show up on Thursday.
We’re going to look bad if we have attendance like that on ESPN2.

Kinda surprised that you had to rebound your own missed shots.
Normally, I’m used to seeing those kind of games having someone to keep the contestant from having to chase his shots.
Maybe this is how Griffin Bros. keeps their cost down.
Back on topic, how could anyone be surprised at Saturday’s attendance. Given the way this season has gone, I was surprised that anyone showed up.

IIRC, Xavier has had decent to very good fan support in our Arena. I’m afraid they will be easy to identify.

It would help if they marketed the games on campus with a little bit more than small “basketball game today” signs in places that nobody looks.
Spend 10 minutes writing an e-mail the day before request starts not only reminding students about request, but hyping the game.
Put posters up in the buildings… especially for this one.
I would bet that half of our students don’t even know that Thursday’s game will be on national TV.
Clemson was marketed well. This game has not been, IMO.

So what do you guys expect for attendance on Thursday…students and total? Hopefully its a good showing…for your sake and that of the conference. I’m obviously an X fan but I’m bringing a friend that just moved down here and is looking to get behind a local team…the problem is that he lives in davidson…so you see where he might be leaning. Maybe you all can convert him.
