We also have confirmed that Charlotte recently landed 6’7 Charlie Coley from Dodge City (JC) KS. And this too is big, because this athletic combo forward who has drawn Gerald Wallace-like comparisons is ranked #4 in the junior college ranks by Juco Junction.com. However, even more important, Coley and 6’7 Lamont Mack from Angelina (JC) TX, who is ranked #21 in the junior college ranks by Juco Junction.com, should provide the 49ers with the immediate quick fix that they will need to replace 6’5 Sr DeAngelo Alexander and 6’9 Sr E.J. Drayton, both of whom will graduate this spring. And, if that weren’t enough, Charlotte also has 6’7 An’Juan Wilderness from Lenoir (Patterson School) NC, 6’7 Gaby Ngoundjo from Little Rock (Christian) AR, and 5’9 Dijuan Harris from Hillsborough (JC) FL in this year’s recruiting class and 6’5 Frosh Charles Dewhurst, who red-shirted this past season, 6’0 Mike Gerrity, who transferred from Pepperdine and sat out this past season, and 6’11 Phil Jones, who sat out this past year and will be eligible in the fall, all waiting in the wings. In other words, it looks like 49ers assistant coaches Rob Moxley and Chris Cheeks are really getting it done on the recruiting trail and, as a result, it wouldn’t surprise us if this is one of the most improved teams in college basketball next season.

If you could please verify that HoopScoop didn’t rate Iti as the second coming, then at least the pub is good.

Seems a little too optimistic, though, since so many fresh faces means learning how to play in a system with each other during a tough OOC.

Improvement could occur, but the record might not bare that out.

Sweet!
That’s encouraging to hear. Anyone posted it on KSU boards yet? They were bragging the best class. I know this says “one of the best”, but from out of no where! Way to go Mox and Cheeks!

I think KSU still has us beat.

K State didn’t even break the top 40.

That’s because they included Billy Walker in that class, he’s been enrolled at K-State for a while now and is taking classes there. Got a medical redshirt last year due to season ending injury. If I’m not mistaken he was going to go to a prep school and be a 5th year prep guy but decided he would go ahead and finish his requirements for graduation, and play for K-State last year.

If they were to include Walker in this coming up class, then they might as well throw in Phil Jones in this up coming class.

Gerald Wallace is one of my favorite NBA players. I hope he's anywhere near as fun to watch, and that Bobby utilizes his supposed amazing athleticism this year.

Nice work by the coaching staff with these recruits. I think anyone that sees what we’ve gotten is going to be impressed.
