yesterday does not bother me…we were 7-1 our last 8 games vs Tampa…sort of due for a good smack down from them.
I think the KC game made us to sure of ourselves. You gotta prepare and play each Sunday like you are deperate and awful the week before.
I remember our NFC championship year vs the Seahawks, the Bears killed us in the regular season, then we spanked them in the playoffs.
We are 4-2 against a good sked.
Thank you. Let’s also go ahead and add that 4-2 is the second best record in the NFC, behind only the Super Bowl Champs. The game bothered me, because it was a chance to make a statement and put the team in the driver’s seat. However, when you have that chance, it means the other team is going to be desperate no matter what. We came out flat, just like we’ve done all year. We’re a second half team, but you can’t overcome coming out that flat against a division opponent on the road. Could be worse. We could be anyone in the NFC East. Please, society, stop saying that’s the best division in professional sports. They’ve got a good, what, 8,000 years on the NFC South? Now, a team that a lot of experts picked to go to the Super Bowl is on the bottom of the South looking up, while only the Eagles won in the East this week, aside from the fact that they all played beatable teams…I know how it feels…we got beat down this week too…except by a good team…in our division…on the road…instead of getting beat at home (Redskins, Dallas [don’t even try to count Arizona as a road game]) by beatable teams. NY lost in a tough road environment, but to an injured and beatable team. I wish, so bad, that the South and the East played each other this year. Only team we get is the Giants, though. Big game @ home this weekend against a great division opponent. However, even if we lost it, we’ve got some very winnable games coming up. As you saw, we may lose some tough road games this season, but this team will win the winnable games, unlike the NFC East…see KC…because that’s the only game we’ve played so far that should be considered one of those winnable games.
The Panthers haven’t lost to a team this year who hasn’t changed QBs midweek. Those two changes hurt us a lot. I think that if we could have overcome shooting ourselves in the foot, it would have been with Griese at TB’s helm. Why he ever started is beyond me. We would have also destroyed Jackson in Minnesota. Oh well…either way, we’re tied for the division lead. I say tied because being a half game up means nothing when you still have games to play. Go Panthers, and watch out for the South.
One last thing…or two, I should say. Also saw that the Redskins signed Shaun Alexander. I think they have a good chance of coming out of that division on top. Credit to the Panthers who showed them exactly in great detail everything they needed to improve on
