How does this happen?

Gas Zones

probably just didn’t put the higher price on the sign yet.
NA said the wholesaler sets their price, which is wrong (according to my uncle)
You’re both right. Some companies do buy from a distributor. Some are big enough that they don’t need the distributor and buy direct from the wholesaler. Thus, depending on the company, the distributor may indeed set the price.

How come alot of pumps are putting bags over the nozzles. Is every station out of gas, or are they shutting down pumps to ration it for the next day? Notices this last night. They shut down all the pumps all at once at this one station.

Saw gas yesterday for $3.61… drove a little further and saw it for $4.39!

they are out Gill

most likely they would still have gas, but everyone freaked and bought 2x what they needed or topped off with a half a tank, and now there is no petro being delivered until the supply gets going again next week

the mob mentality did this

Oh im sorry. I forgot to add.

Last night, they covered the pumps. but this morning as I jogged by all the pumps were open again.

Thats why I was a lil confused. I guess they got a tanker fill up last night?

prices are slightly higher than avg around the DC Metro area.

They could have been rationing it out for Sunday morning commute to churches. A gas station owner on TV said thats what he was doing. I guess maybe they get more traffic coming in the store to buy other things on Sunday morning?

I say 5.39 last night at a station in Union county.

Yeah, I saw that on the news. I expect them to recieve a subpoena Monday when the state goes out to get gougers. There is no excuse to be over $5.00 when everyone else is capped out around 4.39…

Yes Gill, a lot of stations recieved new supply last night.

Kudos to this governor. He declared a State of Emergency. I believe I also heard where locally there was a request to take photos of gas stations who had large 1 day increases.

Oil fell below $100 a barrel. Now I want gas to go back down to $2.00/gallon.

Amen, it’s now at 90 and change, this is crazy, gas should drop like a rock in the next few weeks. Hope it goes to at least 2.50.

Nope, nope, nope. Of course it won’t. Right now they are citing production issues. They give us half-a** answers and keep us in the dark just like our congress and then continue to screw us over. They will hold on to a high price as long as they can, and not to be pessimistic but unless someone pushes real hard, like say government action for real instead of a dog and pony show, we will probably never see it go under $3 a gallon again.
