howdy niners: charlotte independence...
I cannot begin to describe the days of Cincy fans and Charlotte fans on this/former website going at each others throats (is Kenny Satterfield still crying?). Straight up insane war. It was as intense as UNC-Duke. I miss it.

Hi Gruehls! you’re a good man.

tell UC Tom hi.
hello metro. been awhile. i miss those days too. you stayin in touch with SCConway?

i’ll pass the message on to uctom.

updated:
Independence 34, Elder 34 (:35 left in 4Q)
» Gramke 1 run (Miliano kick).

EDIT: Indy attempted 48 yd fg to end regulation, missed. we go into OT. OT in OH is same as NC, with the exception of starting at the 20 instead of the 10

Elder wins on an INT in OT. Longest winning streak in the nation is over

Sure enough
Independence’s 109-game win streak over!

Independence 34, Elder 34 (end of regulation)

Elder 41, Independence 34 (OT)
» Josh Jones 14 pass from Groene (Miliano kick)

my jazz instructor is going to be pissed next week. He taught at Independence for like 35 years.

Independence is a great team, but a lot of local teams have a severe intimidation factor going into games against Indy. The Cincy team most likely did not have this. I used to play against Tom Knotts when he was at West Charlotte. Same thing as Indy, state titles, All Americans, national rankings. Our team usually lost the game before we ever stepped on the field. I think that happens a lot in state for Indy. Good to have an out of area testing.

Excellent, excellent point. The same used to be true of A.L. Brown - opposing players would see the “K” on the helmet and practically soil themselves. I’m sure they’d heard about the streak and all that, but to Elder, Indy was probably just another good team.

Who’s your jazz instructor? Well, I was at the last game Independence lost, and I wish I had been at this one. I liked Knotts’ response. Life isn’t about the nuber 109, life is about winning the next game. I’m glad in a way that it wasn’t a Charlotte team that beat them, but I hope the guys look at it the right way and turn it around. I used to record the game tapes for Independence and I know what it’s like on the bus after a loss with Knotts. Pick your head up guys! Go Big I!

Gents and metro-

What’s going on in the wannabe Queen City?

I was at the Indy vs Elder game and it was unreal. That qb for Indy was fun to watch and his WR were unreal, but Elder has a very nice team this year after two down years. My son is a freshman at Elder following in his Dad’s footsteps, so it was even more fun watching the 109 game win streak stopped.

Gruehls went to St.X who is #1 in Cincy for a good reason. They’re probably the #1 team in the nation as they proved Sunday beating #7 Dematha, MD 28-7 and X’s best RB sat out the game.

Metro, my friend how’s life treatin you these days? Still out hunting MILFS?

Take care and if Milk still posts here, chime in brother.

I bet all the Xavier grads are talking junk about our town now.
