Huggins will return in September

Enuff already. Goin’s right, time to get on with it and quit acting like Hugg’s killed someone. The sanctimonious handringing of the Academic Pooh-bahs makes me sick. Pharasies they are indeed.

Good luck Hugg’s.

I think its all too convienent for the cincinatti athletic department. As far as Huggs goes, I think it has been a real embarrasment, and maybe that should be enough of a penalty…although he has been well compensated for his suspention(base salary of 185,000)…
I guess for me this shows the integrety of Cincinnati athletics. I think had they been in the position that we were with Demon last year, being a big game they would have played him…
I think that they should keep Huggs suspended through at least part of the season, maybe till after Chrismas

Huggins is lucky he didn’t kill somebody, or himself. The guy could hardly walk or stand up because he was so drunk!!! The brief suspension he recieved and the fact that it came out of season basically amounted to no suspension at all. He basically got a paid month off to play golf, but I’m not at all surprised at the outcome!!! :ticked:

If all of you were calling for Curt to be suspended for the entire season after he was arrested for DWI I could understand calling for equal punishemnt. I don’t seem to recall many requests for a season long suspension for Curt or Demon for that matter.

Double standards suck.

I don’t remember Curt ever being convicted of anything. The details of his arrest were very questionable, and he was a passenger in the car from which they arrested him from. He at least had to sit out one game. There may be more to Curt’s deal than most of us know, but he was not found guilty of anything.

Larry Eustachy got fired for simply drinking with the students at ISU. I don’t think he ever got behind the wheel. Huggins drives drunk, can’t walk or hardly stand up when he gets out of the car, and he gets effectively nothing. I guess there is indeed a double standard.

How convenient. If Huggs was not a winner, he would be GONE. Believe it.

I normally would not take this view, but I think the public embarrasment Huggins received and the school will now receive for keeping him will be punsihment enough in itself. Americans have short memories and this would normally all be forgotten after a couple of months. My concern is how is Huggins going to handle the opposing crowds in the upcoming year?

It could get ugly and embarrasing for opposing teams and Huggins. I kinda dread what our own students may do this year when Huggy rolls into town.

You could argue that he deserves it, or you could argue that he made a mistake and we should show some class.

I just hope we win the game.

It’s official. Huggs returns on August 27th.

Eustachy got fired for getting his picture taken with an ugly coed while drinking. It wasn’t the act that caused the termination, it was the national exposure and embarrasment.

Had it not been for the photo being made public, his only penalty would have been much like many I have faced in the past…nawing my own arm off the next morning.

Cincinnati is a disgrace to college basketball! Sooner or later its going to be as bad as the NBA.

I have NO respect for Goin or Cincinnati athletics or the university for that matter.
I can’t immagine them taking him back so soon…although probably by bringing him back before the season starts will bring a lot less attention to them( which is a horrible reason) Once the cameras are rolling this fall and the college basketball fans are attentive, there would definately be a lot more attention to it

When cincy comes here this fall…I’ll be raising some hell about it, not specifically about the coach but about there program. :hammer:

Eustachy’s ordeal was certainly no more embarassing than Huggins’. Huggins’ episode looked like a comedian doing some sort of drunken person routine. It was about as embarassing as it gets, and it was all caught on video. Like others have implied and said, we’ve come to expect light punishment from Cincy’s program for such wrongdoings.

Mike DeCourcy’s 2 cents on Huggins’ reinstatement…

FoxSports.com: Cincy had no choice but to stick with Huggins

BTW, here’s the official statement from UC: Huggins Suspension Ends Aug. 27

Heres a good sports line article about the Thuggins saga
