Eric Rudolph evaded arrest for 5 years “hiding out” in the Nantahala.
Damned revenuers.
Very funny poking fun at people that possibly lost everything. I live in Rutherford Co and the losses are unimaginable in some places. I don’t know the circumstances surrounding this guy but it is not a reflection of the people here. Maybe give the stereotypes a rest at least until they get back on their feet?
Yea, people freezing to death is a real and grim possibility.
Well said.
The WLOS story below is a reminder that a one-time assistant minister at my church is now heading up a congregation in Waynesville. All seems to be OK there in spite of the sanctuary’s proximity to Richland Creek.
Also very familiar with the AVL area devastated by Helene and all the news footage and photos have been difficult to fathom - even with my long-time knowledge of the 1916 Flood. And as a rail fan, I have traveled over the CSX and Norfolk Southern lines heavily damaged by the storm and difficult wrapping my head around that.
Plus my daughter is a WCU grad, so WNC has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Hopefully this prolonged stretch of little to no rain will continue as the clean up etc progresses.
Stephen Colbert gave a shout-out to Chimney Rock and Bubba O’Leary’s General Store in particular during his opening monologue last night. Also mentioned the Concert for Carolina.
