They’ll all be empty cause no one sits down in that place come playoff time.
OK SMARTASS You know my point - the game better be a sellout.
Funny part about Game 7 in the '06 Finals. During the game, I never even thought about the point we were standing during the whole game.
Unlike Halton Arena, it took zero prompting from anyone.
The next day someone asked me if we really did that because they heard about it on TV.
I had to stop and think…“Yeah, I guess we did stand up the whole game.” In that atmosphere, no one even thought about it or tried to make people stand up. It just naturally happened and we never even paid attention to the fact we weren’t sitting down.

I went to Game 5 when the Canes had their first chance to win it and no one sat down that entire game either. Also went to game 5 of the Montreal series and game 5 of the Buffalo series (amazing OT win and of course obnoxious Sabres fans everywhere)

I was at Game 5 of the Montreal series – if you would’ve told me, before now, you were there, I would’ve bought you a beer.
Just checked my ticket stubs of '06 playoffs:
I attended
Game 1 & 5 of Montreal series
Game 5 of (series clincher) of New Jersey series
Game 1 & 7 of Edmonton series
I attended the Montreal Game 5 as well!
My first playoff experience was in '02 I think. Against the Maple Leafs. I didn’t know who to cheer for.
Ok, you too, could’ve had a free beer. Timing is critical, though. You can’t wait 3 years to tell me you were there.
I was at Game 5 of the Toronto series in '02…my 1st RBC tailgate experience. Canes led 3-1 in the series. I was convinced we were at the clincher.
Of course, we lost 1-0, but won the next one in Toronto. Somewhere in some archives there is a photo (taken by an AP photographer) of me and a Leaf fan trash talking in the RBC Center parking lot.
One great memory from that game was hearing the Canadian and American anthems sounding like 30,000 people were singing both songs.
hahah i had seats right on the top of the lower level where the bar is at…i had a waitress takin care of me the whole game…one of the best trips to RBC.
BTW, for 2002, this is John Madden talking about RBC (John Madden, the NJ Devil)
“Some people might find it chaotic, but I actually find it fun,” John Madden said of playing in Carolina. “It’s a really loud building. I don’t know if it’s the way the building’s designed, but it’s a lot louder there than it is here. It’s a good environment to have fun in.”
OWNED
nope. it’s not the way it’s designed. new jersey just SUCKS
they have a new building that sounds plenty loud during basketball games…it’s not the building. sounds like he’s calling someone out…or 20,000 someones. welcome to what a real playoff atmosphere sounds like, NJ.

For me, at the time, “we” won 1-0. I grew up a Leafs fan and hadn’t really bought into Hurricane-dom, yet. We had seats with a whole bunch of Leafs fan who had made the trek, and they couldn’t stop talking about how much fun tailgating was. They aren’t allowed to do that up in Canada, apparently.
One fan, after hearing my parents had moved to NC from Ontario, remarked, “how the hell do you guys live here? the beer tastes like piss!”
maybe the Devils are goading the Canes into the penalties or maybe its their own carelessness.
BUT THE CANES ARE SPENDING TOO DAMN MUCH TIME ON THE FREEKIN PENALTY KILL.
6 minutes of period 1 was a man advantage for “Jersey Mike’s Sub Shop”.
enough of this crap…please.
IMO, this has easily been the best series of round 1. Of course, with Washington, St.Louis and Columbus making token appearances, that may not be saying much.
The Anaheim-San Jose series is too late for my bedtime, so I haven’t really followed that one.

Most experts thought the Rangers could beat Washington due to goal tending. What I find funny is everyone was jumping all over the Blue’s bandwagon…

Ovechkin is talented, no question.
BUT
I saw the Craps up in Raleigh in late March and there were not a good TEAM.
