Plavich didnāt get any open looks in the first half. They were on him like tight underwear. The two threes he took in the first half were contested, and he hurried them. The inside-outside passing we got going mid-way through the 2nd half freed him up. Of course, the 35 footer he took wasnāt contested, but whoās going to guard him from that deep? B) :o
Watching their student section keep putting their hands on their hand in disbelief after Plavich kept nailing threes was definitely worth the trip.
Guys, we need to keep playing this game. Itās our ONLY traditional rival. Yes, we own the series lead by a 3-1 margin, but this game is good for the area. As long as Davidson keeps their program at itās current level, it wonāt hurt to play them RPI-wise either. The years that we play at their place is an additional game that we Niner fans can easily attend. I hope it continues.
Ridiculous that any of our players have the green light to shoot from 30+ feet. I donāt care if they drop, Bobby needs to reign this guy in and I wonāt stop saying it.
Glad we bounced back, but from the sounds of it I wouldnāt have liked the way we came back.

He took one from 30. I donāt have a problem with it if heās hitting. You donāt tell him to stop shooting when heās on. Plus, heās shooting 57% from 3. We were executing well, which led his āopenā shots. It also opened up jumpers for EJ and Eddie. Plavich passed up a few and fed the guy who set the screen for him. It was working.
I was really encouraged by how our players were sharing the ball, and particularly how Plavich started putting the ball on the floor and driving when his defender overcommitted. I think that and Davidsonās fatigue level contributed to Plav finally getting some open looks. Thatās all he needs to heat himself up.

Unfortunately some of the gyms in the A-10 are smaller than Davidson's and not nearly as nice.
plenty of fans travel and not tire the team out from travel.
Here's what we're looking at in the A-10:
A-10 school / arena capacity
Dayton 13,266
Duquesne 6,200
Fordham 3,200
George Washington 5,000
LaSalle 4,000
UMass 9,483
Rhode Island 7,657
Richmond 9,071
St. Bonaventure 6,000
Saint Josephās 3,200
Saint Louis 21,000 (NOTE: proposed on-campus arena will seat 13,000)
Temple 10,206
Xavier 10,250

I just think we have "outgrown" playing at their place. We are a pretty decent program and don't really need to play at a small gym anymore. We are expected to win so we have nothing to gain, will not help recruiting, etc.
I understand they are in the same county and are Div 1, but they are Southern conference.
Just my opinion.
You sound like an ACC fan talikng about playing us.

He needs to keep his head up though, he spends too much time looking at the ball when he dribbles. That fast break with Eddie was a really shining example of what I am talking about, he stared at the court instead of looking ahead to see who was breaking down court.
Our perimeter D wasnāt outstanding, but at least we managed to get the ball in the hands of the guy who wasnāt hitting for once.
All in all, a solid win, but nothing Iām too excited about because we did what we were supposed to do. Blow out an inferior team. I would like to see this team step up to the plate and do something like that to a top tier team (Indiana would suffice), or at least close a game against a team we should beat.
You know what Lefty, Plavich won 2 games for us last year (Syracuse, ODU) and lost others with his reckless shooting. If he hits one 30 footer, heāll heave up 20 more. I got sick of it last year and after what happened vs. Bama, Iām already sick of it this year. In no instance is a 30 footer a good shot, except as time is expiring in despiration.
It all comes down to discipline and I canāt believe Bobby wonāt yank himā¦even more incredulous that Bobby encourages him to keep shooting.

No one player loses games for us, or wins them for us. Players have good days and bad and there is no way of knowing who would have stepped up had that person not or should have because they didn't. Saying any different is purely personal.

My favorite thing about Leemireās game, if the shot isnāt dropping, he stops taking it. Just hope Bobby doesnāt infect him with the āFire at willā garbage.

Oh well, get used to it again, right?
Iām not talking about last year. I agree, last year he and Demon took way too many threes. This year, heās hitting over 50% and weāre executing our offense. Things opened up last night and he was on fire. If heās goes, coldā¦then yes, I would hope Lutz reigns him in.
Thereās no coach in the country that would tell him to stop shooting. Thatās crazy!
ATL- If you are tired of it go watch Georgia Tech and get the heck up outta here. Roller coaster year but our boys are playing hard ā¦and Iāve had more fun watching this team than any that Ive been exposed to since 1986. We lost a couple of hard breakers but if your gonna bust on BP for talking that shot then go away. The man in the last 12 minutes of that game hits 7 3ās and you bitch. He hits 5 3ās in a rowā¦is feeling it and the crowdā¦gets an open look from anywhere and lets it go. I love the guy. He sealed that game last night and he is hitting over 50% for the year. Give me a break.

Sorry to ruffle your feathers JK. I stand by my desire not to see our players heave up 30 foot 3s under any circumstances.
Anyway, I do enjoy watching Tech play because they are disciplined and they know what they are doing. If we play disciplined, we can break through much the way Tech did last year.
Iām so sorry JK for wanting to see our guys get to the next level. Thatās all I want.
