I guess SLU fans are longing for the run-n-shoot days of Brad Soderberg

wow… 7 points in a half? 20 in a game!!! thats nuts

NCAA record for fewest points in a game in the shot clock era.

So far this season we have Penn with 6 points in a first half, Savannah State with 4 points in a second half, and now SLU with 20 points total.

it looks as if the refs let the teams play too. 8 fouls vs. 13…

I’ll write it so save someone else the trouble: “He should be fired.”

Man, as bad as that Miss. State game was at Halton, I didn’t think anyone could score lower than that. Geeze.

You should be booted out of conference for that one game alone. Seriously.

Do you think he's earning his money, or that he's nearly as good as he was hyped to be? Twenty points in a game is inexcusable, regardless. It isn't like he inherited a bunch of scrubs.

There’s actually “highlights” of this game…

Lucky only 3213 people were there to watch it.

I actually watched part of the game on CSTV (the channelsurfing.net site). Holy f.

I’ve never seen anything like it. George Washington is awful defensively and have given up 50 point halves already, if memory serves me correctly. I think Panhandle State could have walked in and beat GW tonight 68-49. Not Saint Louis. I watched the game and started wondering if their horrendous play was intentional or not. Kind of like the pitcher in Bad News Bears that got pissed at his dad and allowed the inside-the-park home run.

7 points in the first half, the team goes to the locker room, and then returns to the court to do the impossible: Play even worse! The announcers gleefully watched their wristwatches, hoping that Saint Louis could go an entire hour without scoring a field goal. I’m tellin’ ya … the shots weren’t even close to going in. Someone on Saint Louis took an attempt at an easy jumper - and air balled it. It landed in the hands of a teammate that stopped the near-hour long drought with the lay-in. Later, Saint Louis scored their first three pointer on their nineteenth attempt.

Husak was hurt and Saint Louis played with a smaller lineup. But the stats show that Husak was the leading scorer of the team with 5 - so they must have put him in late. So the healthy players could only manage 15 points, I guess.

Incidently, Majerus had little good things to say about the conference when he got the job. What a way to start off! I hear Soderburg is going to come to the next Saint Louis home game and strangle Rick Majerus with a chain a la Princess Leia.

…the OTHER half of the atlantic10…

What the …!!! Seriously?! That is horrid from both teams. I don’t think either team is that good on defense. Guess it’s time to go visit the A10 message board. This should be interesting.

Their message board has a game thread for this classic. Pretty good stuff in there.

“35 cent tacos at Del Taco tomorrow if we hit 20!”

Only if Majerus was at Charlotte would we hear that!!

This was a 20 win team last year, how can Majerus get 0 blame? I mean the players have got to shoot, but still… to score 20 points you or your team has to quit… and I’m sure every single player (including the bench) didn’t quit.

I watched the game last night too. I tuned in with around 10 minutes left in the first half and SLU had 1 freakin point. 1 POINT!! It was like watching a train wreck.

I’ve never seen anything like it. Its not like SLU doesnt have scorers. Liddell and Lisch can both fill it up. This team just couldnt find the bottom of the net. There was literally 3 times that SLU blew wide open bunnies under the basket. Shots would go half way down and then jump back out again. It was crazy. It just goes to show how much of sports is mental.

And GW is terrible. They play zero defense. No body attacks the basket. Both teams were just content jump shooting all night long. They could have played that game with out the officials.

Majerus is a good coach, and had nothing to do with that game last night. It was just one of those nights.

They could show every single SLU basket and still have plenty of time for a few GW highlights…

I actually turned this game on while I was doing some work last night. They only had 8 points with 11 minutes left in the game. They went almost an hour of real time between FG’s.

They also talked about Deangelo Alexander’s brother who plays for GW. They mentioned that DA was playing in Romania, I think…

Is that in the NBA? Cuase I thought that was why he played so selfishly last year… because he was headed for the NBA…
