Attends Westchester Academy in High Point. One of the best athletes in his class…can really fly. Has a decent shot out to the three. Great in transition.
Per Jeff Borzello, the Greensboro resident has been granted release from his scholarship by Mercer. Bears leading scorer in 2014-15 @ 15.1 ppg, including 30 vs Tennessee, 21 vs Rice, 20 vs Seton Hall, and 16 vs Texas A&M. Will have one year and is eligible immediately.

here is my question. if the current players who just left the program like dorn left bc they did not want to be part of a “rebuild”, why would this kid, who probably has a lot of suitors, want to be part of a “rebuild”?
Better question: if we reload with guys like this and deuce bello, will our guys reconsider leaving?
great question. based on nothing, i think dorn would consider staying. maybe izundu. that would have me beyond excited if we could pull it off. i want to hear about some other offers soon. i just read a tweet that said that we are involved in izunudu’s recruitment along with ut, bc and someone else and that price and company are watching him.

Time to let him go.
Highly doubtful, of them all Dorn probably has the best shot since it seems he was the last to decide. Anyone close to Desmond Oliver is most likely gone as I hear he is playing a part in some of these kids decision. I think izundu was one of Oliver’s kids right?

you are probably right but i think it says something that the staff is looking at him still. i doubt the kid wants to go all the way to boston. tennessee i can see happening bc of oliver. cincy is pretty far away. if the staff thought that the kid definitely wouldn’t come back, i wonder why they would be watching him.

Reality check people. The best player on a team coming from a 1 bid league, isn’t going to transfer to another team in a 1 bid league.
Can we stop the 1 bid stuff? At this point in the various program’s status, going to a BC, Illinois, Rutgers, VT or KSU isn’t all that different than going to Charlotte. One bid or not. If Charlotte lands a few top 125 recruits, then all of sudden CUSA may not be a one bid conference.
On top of that, for the most part these kids are not that savvy. That has more to do with us messageboard nerds.
if i am price, i tell izundu that we will build the program around him. tell him that he can stay at home, where his family can see him play and that he has the connections that he can call up any scout, coach, or gm and tell them, “i have this 6’10” athletic freak who you need to come check out, o and he can shoot also".
I love it when posters state so emphatically that certain things will not happen. As if…
I would hope Price & Co. are at least looking at Nwamu. Don’t know what his motivation is for leaving Macon. Had some big games versus P5 competition in 2014-15, plus the 11 he scored coming off the bench in Mercer’s win over Duke in the 2014 NCAA tournament. Might just want to play his final season closer to home. Can’t hurt to find out and would expect the staff to do so.
Probably right since he’s visiting Pitt and UNLV.
Commits to UNLV over Nevada and Pitt.
