Wow…
wow, that stuff would not fly
- Schools also are being urged by the conference to evaluate the practice of taking the entire team to an off-campus hotel the night before home games.Jim, someone, please confirm that we don't do this
I know when we hosted the a10 soccer tournament 2 years ago, Coach Lipsitz took the team to a hotel for the entire weekend
The conference is eliminating printed versions of individual sports media guidesDoes this mean the Observer will be online only?

I think that’s different, than what the article was referring too, i wouldn’t have a problem with that, during a conference tournament, a boost chemistry could make up for some of the fatigue on the 3rd or 4th day.
Also, I wonder why of all the schools that fit that posters criteria, why Furman?
VCU, George Mason, Coastal Carolina, Winthrop and Davidson would all bring more to a conference across the board athletically.

Furman has that cute girl that almost beat Jack McClinton in the 3 point contest. They want to keep that rivalry going.
Interesting comments about the ACC dropping Miami and Boston College and picking up Charlotte… very interesting…
Last time I checked the ACC owned Charlotte without us.
Being in a BCS conference would be nice but I cringe at the thought of us in the ACC.
These are just comments made by people that read the article. They’re not going to kick out Miami and BC for Charlotte or anyone else.

Our hometown paper might cover us a little more in the ACC. Even in the Big East, I’m not sure we would get a great deal more coverage. I just don’t see Miami leaving the ACC unless the SEC comes calling. Like Miami, BC just left the Big East, so why would they want to go back?
How can you cringe at us in the ACC?
As cool as it would be to be in the BE BCS conference, the ultimate long-range goal for 25-50 years has to be the ACC. That is THE LEAGUE in North Carolina.
Does this mean the Observer will be online only?
Well played.
If we were ever invited to the ACC, you better believe we would not waste a second accepting that offer. The problem is that will never happen.

I hope this is sarcasm.
Do you want non-Charlotte Alums to accept us as an equal to that damn Carolina & that damn Duke? If yes, then ACC membership is mandatory for us to ARRIVE in this state.

Sshhh! The people in Florida don’t need to know that.
I have to agree- I don’t have any problem with joining the ACC- it would give us a chance to whip Carolina’s ass every year- and I always welcome that
Not to mention that it will increase recruiting (The ACC is the best basketball conference) and will lead to some strong rivalries due to the proximity of other members- I would LOVE to be in the ACC
