I was reading an article on ESPN.com about his suspention and it seems that his punishment has been very easy. He lost his license for 15 days and then has a limited driving permit for 6 months. In NC he would lose his licence for at least a year, and being that he was puking in his car and such he would most likely not get a limited licence. As far as his suspention from UC, it seems that everyone expects him to be back in time to coach for the fall (how convienient). I would like to see Huggins back at UC, I just think that its time they get serious about problems of this such. It sounds like they are doing what is the MOST convienient rather than what they should do. Link to ESPN article
If I recall there was an assistant coach or someone from a team last year that got a DUI, Louisville I think. Does anyone remember this and what happened with the guy?

Well, North Carolina is the smackdown state for DWI. I don't think there are many states that are tougher. I think most states are too lenient, though.

Wasn't that Kevin Willard or something like that? He was interim coach when Pitino bailed for that brief illness.
Huggs is being punished, the laws in Ohio may not be as tough as here, but that isn’t his fault. The L’ville coach was Willard.
The publicity of the suspension has hurt him more than anything. He has been extremely embarrased by this (he should be), I think he should be allowed back prior to any games being played.
I guess how I see it is their program, their call.
Everyone knows about it, and no punishment will make it go away.
It’ll be interesting to see though when he comes back and what impact it has on their recruitment. It’ll also be interesting to see how he deals with future problems with players… will be be more lenient now?
