They play us and Mizzou back to back, I believe. They’re terrified of losing both.
Their board is pretty despondent.
Quite honestly, I don’t like their chances against us. I think we’ll play an ugly game against them, but we’ll win.

I’m hoping against hope that IU doesn’t pull an Michigan State from last year. MSU played a brutal early schedule, losing to 5 or 6 Top 25 teams, then finally broke through at the end of the NC schedule, and played their way back into the tourney. It would be our luck that the game they finally play well would be against us.
Apex and Gold will be there to watch our 49ers beat IU. Our seats are eight rows behind the basket close to the Niner bench.
I hate to say it, and I truly hope I am wrong but i think we lose this game.
It is the type we tend to play ugly and will come down to ft’s and that is not good.
Agree if we do lose ncaa’s are in doubt.
We haven’t proven we can beat them yet. We had our chances with Rodney and blew it that year. I DO think this year will be different. IU should get the win against a bad Mizzou team and drop one to us. I’m not THAT confident in it, but our positives outweigh theirs right now.

[/b]If we lose, we can still easily play our way into the tournament because we should have a lot of success in conference. But you can go ahead and lock us in to no better than a 8-seed if we drop the Indiana game. It would just be really nice to win this one though. The Hoosiers are down but as it has been said, the name alone is worth something when it's in your win column.
our strength of schedule is terrible. MU, Cincy, Louisville and UAB
are ok in conference but everyone else kind of sucks.
We have to play ecu twice, and st louis and they are both absolutely awful and rpi will be terrible.
We can’t afford too many more losses .
Very disappointing season thus far, but Lutz teams start like this all the time, so the jury is still out.

Seriously…Lutz’s teams always play better once conference play starts and I think there is a lot of parity atop this conference. I wouldn’t say that we, Cincy, Memphis, Marquette or even Louisville are all that far apart in terms of our capabilities. We’ll have a good conference run but it would definitely be nice to close out our OOC schedule by running the table.
Agree with groundhog day…
Just be nice to have one season where we don’t have to run the table, but hey, that would not be the niner way.
During the Lutz era it seems we don’t make the critical plays at crunch time against the strong out of conference teams.
That is what separates the great teams from the rest.
The Indiana game would be a good time to put those kinds of problems behind us.
I’m with sf, I don’t think we win this game. IU is never a push-over, especially at home.

I think it depends on what Niner team shows up. Preferably it’s the one that showed up in the 2nd halves of the Davidson and Georgia State games. If we play with the intensity we played with against Bama, we win this game but we can’t afford to come out flat and play from behind. We can do that against a team like Davidson but not Indiana even though this isn’t one of their better teams. This is going to be a VERY important game for both teams and I expect it to come down to the wire, going either way when the final buzzer sounds.
I think we win at IU going away. I think we’ll be up for the game, they may not be (either way, they are in a downward spiral). Plavich gets hot and Basden finishes them off. Heard it here first.
I want to see if we show up against Ashville Sunday or not. These last two games have been nice wins, but we all know how we played in the first half of both. And at no point in either game did I ever feel comfortable with a lead we had. If we fail to show up in the first half for a third straight game, I’ll be expecting an L @ Indiana. But if we show up and blow them out like we should, I think we will be riding high into Indiana and we will pull of a win. The team knows this is their last shot to make noise OOC and the NCAA will be in their minds playing that game, if they get out of this 1st half funk they are currently in, I think they will get a win.
I don’t think the NCAAs will be on their mind. If it is they are putting too much pressure on themselves. Kind of like putting - as soon as you think about what is riding on the putt you sure as hell will miss it.
They just need to go playt their game and run them out of their own gym. We cannot let Indiana dictate tempo. We are faster than them and we need to use that to our advantage. I say we will get tuned up against UNCA and then thrash IU.
