Jamarr Sanders 2009

He’s a JC, listed as a SF on rivals… I’m assuming that’s wrong though? http://flavarsity.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=2&pr_key=88933

He was definitely SG out of high school, signed with Alabama State, then transferred to a JC after I believe?

Um…he’s 6’4’’ and shoots a lot. Sounds like a SG to me…we could always use more shooters, but I hope this doesnt mean we’re concerned about Bowden’s ability or his recovery.

I think we’re more concerned with the lack of consistent talent behind Bowden. We certainly don’t know Bowden’s capabilities, but we know that Ian and Coleman are inconsistent.

Yep, his stats from a year at Alabama St.

Saw Bowden playing in Halton with a bunch of guys, and while I know it isn’t the same caliber of competition, but he was lighting it up. Shooting very well off his dribble and passes, plus he had a nice dunk all over someone.

wow. I’m not sure I like this at all.

Sanders shot 53 percent from the field, including 44 percent from 3-point range, and 78 percent from the free throw line.

That’s pretty impressive shooting. We need more scoring and some athletic guards.

I mean, basically, I’m not worried about this scollie, because it used to belong to the Goon from Cameroon.

had some decent games at Alabama State, but nothing spectacular, especially considering the level of competition.

How many years of eligibility does he have?

How’s he moving around? I couldn’t tell if that was a limp or a strut as he came on and left the court. I assume a limp.

 1. The year at Alabama St. and the year in JuCo both count. I’m assuming he went Juco so he didn’t have to sit out a year to transfer and he’d get an opportunity to showcase his skills after a lackluster freshman year.

Yeah, but he does lose a year of D1 eligibility by doing that.

i played with him a couple days ago. it’s not 100%, but it doesn’t hurt. he told me it never hurts, 'cause i saw the same thing when i watched him run up and down the court. it just gets stiff, and that’s when he knows when to stop.

I did not seen him make a lot of cuts, but he stopped on that leg to pull up for a shot a few times. Looks a lot better, but it’s not my place to judge that sort of thing.

Yes

obviously, which is why I said:

Someone posted this on Utter’s Blog…
Anonymous said… My only concern with the kid having the breakout season is, that is the kind of kid that we got in Barnett and he has not been very productive for the Niners even after a redshirt year and an opportunity to play a lot.

Wtf?
I’m not sure they were saw the same Barnett that I saw last season… Ya know, the one sitting on the bench… A LOT.
