Jerry Richardson Stadium Expansion Approved 🏟

I believe the floor being removed is shown in this one. Seems like another level of clubs was on the roof. Would be intresting if they designed it to be added onto.

That’s a speculative rendering from 7 years ago. It was a demo, nothing more.

I do know that Clemson’s endzone facility was designed for a third level to be added later. For us, if it costs one more dollar to do it, we’d skip adding the ability to add another floor.

I think, therefore I am.

Not sure what this really means given court rulings, TACO, etc.

With the caveat that I do not know construction and definitely don’t know anything about huge projects like this, but doesn’t it seem a little late to start asking for bids now? Construction is set to start in just a few months. I would have thought details like this would be worked out by now

My thought exactly; someone explain

Yep my thoughts too.

I am confused too. I am going to see if I can get some clarity. Let yall know if I hear anything back.

These look like sub-contractor bids. Looks like it’s for specialty items. Electrical, masonry, ect…

Most project management companies don’t retain their own services but hire those out.

If we wind up doing the student side addition as an add-on, it’s possible the winners of the sub-contractor contracts for the press tower won’t even bid because they already have their next job lined up.

I considered those might be subs but wouldn’t that be up to the GC and not a bidding process through the school?

Admittedly I have no idea how that all works.

I think it’s going “through the school” as a legal CYA. It’s clear from the second screenshot that Barton Malow is answering sub questions. The U probably just wants to make sure they’re following UNC System rules and State laws and regs.

I somewhat know how it works and yeah, it’s late. No way it starts in Aug in earnest but I think they knew that anyway.

I had bid solicitations for the softball locker room complex an only couple months before they started construction, so this seems in line with that.

I was told looked like we would be tailgating stadium sidewalk for chapel hill game, which means the construction fencing won’t be up yet.

Bids need to be very close to construction start as most GCs won’t hold pricing for very long. Bids are generally solicited very close to final plan approval so that the bids accurately reflect exactly what is supposed to be built.

For reference, we are just now soliciting bids for a project we expect to start construction on July 18.

We, as in my company that is building a retail center in SC.
