Just wanted to take a moment to suggest some thoughts and prayers for the guy. He found out over the weekend that he has lung cancer and will be undergoing surgery today at noon to remove it. He’s VERY lucky at this point because the cancer could have been easily overlooked if not for his doctor recommending a heart scan after the physical showed no signs of illness. His doctor feels they may have caught it in time but you just never know and the reality of the survival rate for that particular cancer is pretty scary.
Whether you find him annoying and enjoy his unique sense of humor, he’s a really good guy and has always spoke well of the Niners. He was born/raised a Hoosier fan but even rooted for the Niners in our game against them this year. Jim is a great person who does a lot for the community and just thought I’d pass along this info to those who don’t get a chance to listen to WFNZ to hear about this unfortunate situation.

Hang in there in Jim! [/b]
Celania is a great guy. A great friend of mine worked at the March of Dimes and he was always doing what he could for her events and appearances when he was on TV.
I threw a perfect game for 8 2/3 innings vs Illinois St in 95, and I gave up a hit with one out to go, and he talked about it on the air for ch36 that night. That was cool until he completely botched my name calling me Tom Collins. (isn’t that a drink?)
We’re pulling for you Jimmy. I drank beers with him before the Cinci game a few years back. He said he wasn’t going over to the game and had to get home before it got dark. He’s one of a kind. My hour commute each way sure is lot more enjoyable thanks to your show.
All emails and cards will be delivered daily to him. We can send this on over, along with the goldduster thread.

That’s sounds like a classic Celania (of course, I don’t know your real name). Too bad for me that I never got to see him on NBC. I think I’d have enjoyed watching a Celania sports report. He doesn’t take himself nearly as serious as other sports media people.

Not a bad idea. But I think the “Please Delete” thread should be included as well. He’s probably one of the few people that could make sense of that one.
He’s out of surgery and in IC. Apparently surgery went well and now it’s just a matter of recovery and hoping the doctors were able to get everything cleared out, with no chance of spreading.

Celania is my favorite WFNZ personality, and I wish him well. I wonder if Gary The Mouth Williams feels bad about being such a buttocks to Jimmy all of the time.
