Just on a goof I went and researched a dude named John Wooden and his “journey”. For those who say Coach Major has no “resume”,
then take a look at Coach Wooden who only played high school basketball himself and later coached high school and then on to UCLA.
Just a thought, that’s all.
Who?
Who?
The former coach of UC-Los Angeles.

Am I understanding correctly that you are anti-Charlotte-name-change-campaign? You do understand that UCLA’s situation is very different from ours?
Or was this another “joke?”

Or was this another “joke?” ;)
I’m all in favor of the name change but do not think it will solve any problems without other positive changes to go with it. Detroit, Denver, San Franciso, New York City, Buffalo, Akron, Jacksonville, New Orleans, and many others all have a university with the name of the city. We need at the minimum a medical school and FBS football to go with the name change.

Of those, only Buffalo and Akron are public. Buffalo is officially SUNY-Buffalo but is branded and referred to as the University at Buffalo. This is the route that I believe is best for us… everybody is happy.

Threadjack, but I don’t think it goes far enough. I think we need to change it outright so that people won’t still be right when they call us UNCC. Otherwise they still can. Also wouldn’t make as big of a splash and could go unnoticed to many resulting in further use of our slave name.
Of course, I’ll take simply branding as U of C over nothing.

My school UNC aint got no hyphens in there name. They are just plane old UNC.
This thread says John Wooden. He was the secunt best coach ever. Dean Smith is the best. He aint got nobody nowhere close too as good as he was.
Wooden from Midwest, so is Major.
Wooden started at Purdue (as HC,) so did Major (as student asst.)
Wooden was in Cali (UCLA HC,) so was Major (Cal Lutheran grad asst.)
Coincidence?
Oh, & a big shout to the Lutherans in da houz!!!
I’m Lutheran, & Major did Grad School at Cal Lutheran. :))
