This was a pretty big thing that happened last night in Boston. LHP Jon Lester No-Hit the Kansas City Royals last night at Fenway Park. Lester has come back from Lymphoma Cancer, started game four of the 2007 World Series and went 5 and 2/3 scoreless and now has pitched the 18th No-No in Red Sox history (2nd most all time, Dodgers-20). On top of that, Catcher Jason Varitek has now caught 4 No-Hitters, which is the most all time. The Red Sox also have the last two No-No’s in the Majors (Clay Buchholz, September 1, 2007).
The biggest deal is Lester though…he’s a real young kid that has gone through a lot, and its a great story to come back from a life-threatening illness and already accomplish so much in his infant Major League career.
