Strengths:
Debose is a very good wing player in the class of 2011. He uses his body well to put himself in position to keep defenders from getting to his shot. He finds a way to create the space he needs to get his shot off and can get the ball all the way to the basket. On the defensive end, he is a great anticipator who gets his hands on the ball for steals and deflections. He jumps well and has a knack for drawing the foul when driving to the basket. He also possesses great hands.
Weaknesses:
We want to see him finish the shot better when he gets it all the way to the basket. He has a decent middle game but I didn't see the three ball.
Bottom Line:
Debose is multiple position player that plays hard on both ends and is very productive. Debose is also an excellent defender. He uses his quick hands and lateral foot speed to make ball handlers work for every inch. Dubose also understands how to get open. He passes and cuts and moves well with out the ball.
DeBose is a major high riser who has a chance to be very good. He needs to work on his jump shot from the guard position, but his handle and bounce are very impressive.
Another role player for Takeover, DeBose was very solid in his own right. The steady off guard played defense, made shots, got to the rim, and just did all of the little things asked of him to win games. Not the most athletic player on the team, DeBose simply knows how to play, and was also very instrumental in helping Takeover complete the comeback win.
Of the three choices at the end, that one surprised me. Rice? If the kid was from Texas, would make sense, but out of DC it makes no sense. Were we after him?
I just recently came across anything listing us with Debose. Rice is a very prestigious academic university.
Ah, Rice is a pretty good school, that would explain it a little better. Was thinking about it as a strange basketball decision.
