Justin Bolus commits to Charlotte

Bolus has a good blend of size, range and athleticism that could be overlooked on the recruiting trail. A standout on both sides of the ball, we feel will get recruited to play safety at the college level or even outside linebacker where his speed and hips probably project best. Tall, athletically built with the large frame and length to really fill out and add some bulk. Most productive as a half-field safety where he shows good range and burst getting off the hash and over the top of routes. Soundly tracks the ball and positions himself correctly. Has good length and displays very good leaping and high-point skills which allow him to make a lot of plays on the downfield throw and provide favorable matchups on the jump-ball. Shows good plant and drive skill as well breaking on intermediate and underneath routes. Shows similarly good burst and physicality coming downhill to support the run. Strong tackler who wraps up solidly and runs through. However, he is a bit straight-line and shows some stiffness through his hips when trying to break down sharply in space. Could have difficulty mirroring quicker major level skill players at the next level when isolated in the open field or man-to-man coverage. Displays some wasted motion transitioning out of his pedal and changing direction. Overall movement skills are a bit rigid. Overall, Bolus has good size, is athletic and savvy and can mask some of his of deficiencies with sound overall play and instincts. We feel he should be able to carry over some of that production to college but likely not at the major level. Outside linebacker or H-back are potential college positions if he can continue to physically develop.

Welcome to Charlotte!

Its a good time to be a Niner!

Awesome, welcome to the family!

Great football name.

Nice pickup. I love seeing our #'s grow. Starting to look like a team. Go Niners!

Interview with Justin up on NinerReport. At least two solid quotes in there stand out to me. Think this is a great pick up for us.

According to StillJonesing’s logic about Guilmette, we have now stolen a football recruit from ECU.
And without even playing a down of football.
We must be the superior football program.

Justin was named to the South Carolina Shrine Bowl Roster for the annual game that was held on December 17th.
