Justin Coleman SF 2010

Justin Coleman, 2010 SF from Henrico HS in Richmond, VA. He’s 6’4 and weighs 215 lbs (scout has him at 185).

per rivals.com
A big, strong athlete on the wing, Coleman is explosive around the rim and can also shoot the ball with deep range. An adequate ball handler, Coleman is primarily a finisher at this point. He is also strong rebounder in traffic who knows how to utilize his strength. Coaches will like what they see from him during the July evaluation period.

Whether he was dunking, finishing difficult layups or nailing jumpers from well behind the arc, Coleman was constantly on the attack offensively. He is a high-level athlete with a impressive motor who has a skill game that will continue to develop. Mark him down as a four-star when the rankings are reshuffled before the July evaluation period.
I tried to tell everyone about Justin before the tournament after watching him at Henrico during the second half of the high school season. In three games at the Southern Invitational and he only confirmed my early prognosis; he’s an explosive ACC level talent.

He nailed three treys to start one game with a nice follow thru and also used his unreal vertical to swat away a few shots and of course throw down some highlight dunks. Justin is a freak of nature when it comes to athletic ability. He can run the floor, leap tall buildings in a single bound, and win a three point shooting contest with his outside stroke. When I saw him at Henrico, Justin played on the inside however, his handle is defined enough where I could see him as a shooting guard. Against Boo Williams Elite team, Justin finished with 20 points, 5 rebounds, and two three’s.

Our Class of 2010 sleeper award from yesterday has to go to 6-foot-5 Justin Coleman from the Petersburg Elite team that fell to Irving’s NJ Roadrunners in the first round tourney, 77-71. Coleman did all he could to bring his team back from big deficits, scoring 27 points, both from inside and from the perimeter. He has great spring off the floor and a smooth way of finishing inside. Look for the Richmond, Virginia native to emerge more this spring as he gets more exposure.
rivals has Florida, Marquette, Indiana, Xavier and VCU all at medium interest and no offers.

scout has Boston College, Charlotte, Duke, Florida, Indiana, Marquette, Maryland, Oklahoma, UCF, Xavier all listed with Medium interest. Memphis and Va Tech at low interest, and Virginia Commonwealth at no interest.

Sounds like we need to get in on Coleman early. Scout has him as 4 stars and Rivals at 3. Judging the info from Rivals, Coleman will more than likely be a 4 star when they rank the class again.

Lose a Coleman, add a Coleman haha!
Recruiting wise Coleman is hearing from a long list of schools. “Everybody really, Florida, Memphis, Indiana, Maryland, Marquette, Xavier, Charlotte, Oregon.”

Of those schools, Coleman says that a group of four has been in the most constant contact. “Florida probably contacts me the most along with Xavier, Indiana, and Marquette. Those are the four schools I hear from the most.”

scout has him as a 5 star, 4th overall SF in the class - http://charlotte.scout.com/a.z?s=75&p=9&c=4&yr=2010&cfg=bb

i imagine we would use this guy as a shooting guard. can you imagine having him and bowden and briscoe and guyn in the same backcourt?

He’s the size of our typical SF, 6’5 like Eddie, Dew, An’juan, and Me’Angelo.

This kid has blown up over the summer and so have our chances of landing him…

I think he would be an excellent addition. Guard play wins titles!!

Our chances have blown up, as in no longer exist?

I just think we need to forget about this kid and turn our efforts towards landing Harrison Barnes…

His picture reminds me of KenKay Jones. How about that for a “flash from the past”!

going to visit the Hoosiers - http://charlotte.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=969688

Won’t be playing for UofL afterall…

Courier-Journal.com: Roburt Sallie and Justin Coleman won’t be joining Louisville basketball team

I wonder if he wil remain there And play next year…

If I’m not mistaken, Big East does not accept non-qualifiers.

Will prop at Marshall.
