Not sure if he’s a Niner target but couldn’t hurt for Lutz to take a look. Anyway, Belfield is a 6-6 sophomore SG and teammate of VT commit Jarrell Eddie at Concord Cannon.
[Concord Cannon's Jarell] Eddie, a 6-foot-7 junior, has scored more than 2,000 points and led the Cougars to a co-conference championship in the Charlotte Independent Schools Athletic Association this season. He and sophomore teammate Keith Belfield (6-6 guard) are among 80 N.C. basketball players picked to participate in Dave Telep's Carolina Challenge, to be held March 28 at Cary Academy.
According to another piece in the Big O, he’s already been offered by Richmond and Liberty and is getting interest from Davidson, Kentucky, UVa, and VCU.
We have 4 SG on our roster right now 6’3, 6’4, 6’5, and 6’6/6’7 :o
Ian’s 6’4, but plays like he’s 5’10. Coleman is a SF forced to play SG. Barnett is doesn’t seem to have a identifiable position for us yet. I see him as a 3/4 down the line.

I know, I was just saying. I could care less about height if the person can play. Coleman has always played SG, including in the basketball academy where he was supposedly good and shot like 44% from behind the arc. Obviously I agree in saying that I think he'd be better at a SF now.
I seen this kid play a couple of times.I like him alot.He played point guard as freshman. He’s a solid ball player.NC State sent
Monte Towe to see him play this year.I think he will get better offers than Richmond & Liberty…Niners need to be all over this
guy…I don’t think he’s quite 6-6.
i have seen this kid play. he is not good. his only positive attribute is his size. he is a chucker who wasent even making any of his shots, he is a bad ballhandler, he is slow and had a poor attitude. i do not want.
I SECOND THIS!!!
the observer article says that we have offered.
have you seen him play sokool? i saw him play against mcadoo who’s going to carolina. nothing about this kid impressed me. bellfield not macadoo that is.
The ESPN evaluation seems solid. I saw Dezmine Wells play against big time competition and he looked average to me. McAdoo is a 1 and done, Belfield isn’t. I’m not saying you’re wrong because I haven’t seen him play, but no one in the country thinks he’s as good Right NOW as McAdoo is, but can he be 2 yrs from now?
Belfield may or may not be good 2 years from now, but we cant keep loadin up with projects when the other 4 teams in the top half of the A10 are loadin up with STUDS. Right now Belfield is not an impact player in the A10. We have a great nucleus the next 3 years with Briscoe, Bras, KJ. We cant waste schollies. We have to bring in A10 starters now or the window with that nucleus will most likely close without us reaching our goals.

i dont think hes a project, i just dont think he is good and having a poor attitude made me dislike him even more. i would like to think we will have talent after braswell, kj, etc. but i get your point. we cant waste scholarships on guys like this when xavier and dayton and even st. joeseph’s are loading up with big time players.
Richmond has offered him. Last time I checked, their coach was doing a pretty good job. I don’t think its a stretch for us to offer him or a bad get for us when one of our conference rivals who has lately been wearing us out is offering him as well. Not saying he will be good, but there are more coaches than ours out there who think he either will be good or that he has good potential.
thats a solid argument but we can’t take the risk that he will be a sleeper nor can we afford to go against schools like air force and liberty for recruits.
The kid has the height and from what has been said, some intangibles that atleast merit keeping an eye on. Especially, since he was in our own backyard. I do find it someone funny that we wanted our new coach to recruit our own backyard/state, yet a few of these recruits we see on here get slammed. Just an observation. Nobody thought the Currys were worthy either… remind me where each plays now? Oh that’s right.
