Kobe who?
We owned his draft rights for 3 seconds until we traded him for the history challenged.
why do I post here, I don’t even watch the BNA.
He is a whiny, bitchy, selfish, pompus, arrogant, raping, MJ wanna be.
STOP BEATING AROUND THE BUSH!!! TELL ME WHAT YOU REALLY THINK!!!
I decided (under the advice of ID) that we need to talk about Eddie instead.
Problem with trading for Kobe is his $17 million/year and talent.
Not many teams can work out a deal that is worth it for the Lakers. The most talked about it a package of Deng, Gordon and Wallace to the Lakers.
I think some deal with Seattle could happen, but I would think the Lakers want him in the east if they do trade him.
Why do we have 5 million damn Kobe threads?
felton
kobe
brewer/wright (possible draftees)
herrmann
okafor
YES SURRR
MJ said he would spend as much money as he had to in order to win. If we somehow magically end up with Kobe, I will become a huge Bobcats fan, more than I already am.

You would be whiny, bitchy, and selfish too if the only players you had around you were Andrew Bynum, Luke Walton, and Smush Parker. And how is a MJ wanna be a bad thing?

The difference between Kobe and lets say Lebron James (a super star player with a somewhat abysmal supporting cast) is the relationship and trust the star has with his teammates.
Kobe doesn’t trust his teammates and they lose confidence. Lebron shows so much faith in his teammates that it makes them better. That is why it seems like the Cavs supprting cast is better than the Lakers, it all falls on the superstar.
Obviously I do not like the NBA and Kobe is a prime reason. This city is still on the fence about the NBA after shinn and and a decent but unspectacular start. Kobe will make the team exciting but he will bring that TO/Barry Bonds poison with him that makes those three the unholy triumverate of self-worship. The only reason LA put up with him is he brought three rings to the city. Otherwise he is just like his baseball and football counterparts, extremely talented but not worth the overall eroding of your franchise.

EXCELLENT point. This is why Kobe will never win another championship. He cant get along with other star players, and he doesnt make role players better (like Lebron does). He is selfish, and just wants the spotlight on him.

I’m sure the Cavs supporting cast also looks better while it’s playing the Celtics, Hawks, Bucks, and the rest of the trash that the Eastern Conference has to offer. I could win 40 games with kids from the special olympics basketball team in the East.
I don’t like Kobe’s personal choices (rape charges, arrogance, it’s all been mentioned), but the guy can play and is a top 3 player in the game at the moment, his presence would alone give us 10 more wins in a season if not 20. Remember, the Bobcats severely lack a player who can finish games.
i dont think that kobes arrival will affect the attendance at all. he will put new fans in the seats, but in my opinion will take away fans that have been coming the past 3 or 4 years. i say the bobcats continue to develop young players and establish themselves in a very weak eastern conference. the bobcats are 2-3 years away from being in the bulls position. and then they can go and pick up a decent free agent; such as a ben wallace. be patient bobcats fans, their time will come, its only a matter of time.

were you at the lakers game vs. the bobcats? it was the only game that came close to selling out the entire season.
let’s face the facts people come to see kobe play. you might not like him as a player or as a person but you can respect the fact that he is a good ball player and he really wants to win. Easy as that.
Jackson said the strain between him and Bryant led him to hire a therapist to consult with during the season, according to the Los Angeles Times, which printed excerpts from the magazine article in its Tuesday edition.
Jackson wrote he became so frustrated with Bryant that he told general manager Mitch Kupchak in January: ``I won’t coach this team next year if he is still here. He won’t listen to anyone. I’ve had it with this kid.’’
Bryant was aware of Jackson’s ultimatum.
Jackson wrote that Bryant was angry that O’Neal received allowances from the Lakers organization, but that ``nobody this year, or in any year I’ve coached, has received more ‘allowances’ than Kobe Bryant.’’
Among those allowances was the Lakers organization’s partial payment for the private jets Bryant took to Colorado for the hearings in his rape case.
Bryant complained about the kind of plane he was given to fly to Colorado, Jackson wrote, adding ``He should feel fortunate that he’s not footing the bill himself.’’
Bryant told Jackson that O’Neal’s presence on the team would affect his decision to stay with the Lakers, adding, ``I’m tired of being a sidekick,’’ Jackson wrote.
Jackson said he had run-ins with O’Neal as well but that coaching him was ``an experience I will cherish forever.’’
I remember the whole thing with Kobe bitching and moaning that the kind of private plane he used for his court appearances was not to his liking. At the time, Kobe was facing serious jail time for the sexual assault case.
Needless to say, I’m not rushing out to buy Kobe Bryant jerseys any time soon.
