Lance Stephenson

Do not want.

We don’t need a kid that has pending sexual charges. We do not need a kid that is more worried about himself than his team and fights with teammates (been there). We don’t need a kid that will most likely bring NCAA penalties. We don’t need a kid whose handler will be screaming at players on other teams, our team and our coaches (I can just see him and Lutz having it out).

He can play at Memphis.

+1, can’t be said much better than that.

+5
i wouldn’t take him if he assured us a final four appearance. waaay to many serious questions; and together, they waaay fail the smell test!

If it guaranteed a final four, then I would take him in a heart beat. If he passes the clearing house then I don’t think there is going to be much of an issue with him, the only issue after that point would be how we would get him here, and if we are on the up and up like I think, we wouldn’t have a problem.

I personally don’t think he is any good. I have seen him play a number of times and he is a case of being physically dominant over lesser physical specimens, not being some superb basketball player.

we differ re priorities.

we differ re priorities.

If he cleared the NCAA Clearinghouse and is allowed to play, then what is the problem?

If he is getting us to the Final Four, then he wouldn’t be as selfish as advertised, so again what is the problem?

to begin with, a very prominent and disturbing pattern.
we’ve come veerrry close on a couple of occasions, but so far we’ve generally had ‘good citizens’ playing for us. in my opinion, that’s the way to build a program. they don’t all have to teach Sunday school, but let’s don’t go down the bad chemistry alley.

Yeah but if he was getting us to the Final Four then those chemistry issues are moot.

okay, so not chemistry. he gets us to a final four. chemistry must have been smokin.
but what’s his name: derrick rose? that attempt at cutting corners a little tight didn’t work so well. i hope we avoid that at all costs…including ‘an assured final four’.

Screw that, if I knew we would be in the final four if he came here, he could come in and jack up 30 shots a game, and I wouldn’t question it one bit if it meant Final Four.

That’s like telling the Panthers that they would win the Superbowl, but they would need to sign Pacman and Mike Vick. Don’t you think they would do that if it meant them winning the SB?

in a word…no.
the reason (in a word)…integrity.
look it up.

Integrity in sports deals with a guy cheating or not, off the field is exactly that, off the field.

holy…shmolly!
i think i’ll go to bed!
(i think i got your sarcasm, 02. pls tell me i did.)

id love to have stephenson. him alone would give us big time exposure which would help our recruiting for years to come.

I cannot stress this enough: DO NOT WANT!!!
id love to have stephenson. him alone would give us big time exposure …
The exposure he will bring is not the kind of exposure we want for this university. Whatever school signs this kid will immediately be lumped in with the other schools in the NCAA that care about winning and will get there anyway possible. Final Four or not we’d be seen as a dirty program. Not worth it.

I’m only arguing for arguments sake because we have no shot at him IMO, but this stuff is getting ridiculous.

Every school drops off on him, we give him a “chance”, he takes us far in the NCAAs, that sounds like a feel good story more than a dirty program story.

If he is cleared by the clearing house, what the hell is the issue?

Maybe the panthers would, but it would be another reason I would never cheer for them. I would hope the teams I cheer for have a better respect for human beings than to bring in people who have or are close to using up all their chances. Second chances for bad people are what the Raiders, Bearcats, and Kansas St’s of the world are for.

Yeah big time exposure by the NCAA as they have us on possible probation when they finally settle the reality TV show, agent interaction, dad’s payments, possible sexual assault, …

The fact that if they clear him initially, it doesn’t mean he is clean…Derrick Rose. Oh and that I would also wish to see him cleared of the sexual assault.

I forgot we only recruit alter boys…

Memphis may not even see any punishment from the “reported” Rose situation.

Kansas won a title after it hired Chalmers dad…

College basketball isn’t for the faint of heart.

Also with the 2nd chance situation…so I guess no one deserves a second chance, hope your record is clean…
