Last spot 2010

Soft may have been a bad word to use but my point was that he is more of a 4 than a 5. I would like to see him go up stronger with his layups as I don’t think he would miss near as many as he has with his under handed scoop layup.

I would like to see us have someone who is like a Coley, Mack, or Withers though for next year. I guess if KJ is expected to get a lot of minutes next year he would fill that role?

I imagine his minutes will increase, but he’s still going to be competing against the same players he is this season. I just don’t see him getting 15+ minutes until Spears and Jones are gone.

with 2 scollies avail and 2 gaurds coming on board, I’d love to get a Zimmerman/Galen type slasher and natural 6-10 center like Neely and Kenkay. BUT DONT WASTE them on warm bodies. If no quality guys are avail, save them for next Nov.

KJ better improve or he won’t see action until he’s a JR. Who’s mins is he taking next yr? Bras, Phil, Spears?

I think KJ is probably capable of being a slasher, especially if he can improve his handles. He has the body and athleticism of a natural SF. Of course, he wont see many minutes there behind Dew and Wilderness. I think he’s just going to have to wait another year to see significant minutes.

I would be very surprised to see Lutz not use the scholarships though.

Metro, I think you definately hit the nail on the head. Do you know of any guys like you mentioned that we are currently recruiting? Also, what I meant to say was that if KJ got more minutes next year, not that he would take a starting spot from anyone.

Id pass on a Neely, but we should be all over a Kenkay if available.

Havent heard that we are recruiting a big man. But, I wouldnt be surprised if we looked to get a big guard/shooting wing along with a big man who athletic and able to run/play defense. Our options are probably going to boil down to:

A. a late qualifying freshman/late deciding freshman/freshman who changes mind because of a coaching change/or a knockout D1 transfer (who would have to sit out).

OR

B. Jucos

So, I wouldnt expect to sign anyone until else until our season is done…

Signing dates are early Nov and April, all you can do now is get verbals

I’d like to see us go after an underrated big man who has nice size for either the 3, 4, or 5. 6’7 - 6’11 range with decent weight on his frame (not any of these sub-200 pounders).

I wouldn’t mind getting a good big man from a JUCO that can step in immediately and play physically and match up with some of the bigger teams like Georgia Tech. We would be better suited to get on of those type player for the season after next when Shamari, Phil, and Anjuan graduate otherwise the new guy wouldn’t see significant minutes until he had one year left.

My only critique of Braswell is that he misses a lot of lay-ups, because he drives with out dribbling. So, when he drives he ends up taking scoops and longer lay-ups, because he has to just run with the ball and put it up before he takes too many steps. I’d like to see him get the ball closer to the basket, but that is Spears position when they are both in. So, this is one of those things that will work itself out in the future. As will some of his other under the basket misses, because he’ll get stronger over time.

As far as our last two schollies go, I’d like to get a front court project and another shooter, juco or otherwise.
