What a sad day.

Memories flowing in of some of the best days of my life as an alum and die hard NINER fan. Glad to have witnessed in person the greatest NINER wins of all time during Rose’s tenure.
Sorry to hear this, even though we all knew the end was near. :green_heart:

Sad news. This would explain why he wasn’t able to attend the last game where we honored him. Makes us a little more disconnected from the greatness we achieved under him.

Sad day.

I was not around for the Lee Rose years, but I read his memoir not long ago. I recommend anyone who wants to learn more about this great man to read this book.

I’ve enjoyed reading about the things that miffed Rose as a college coach etc. Fowler’s piece didn’t include any from Coach’s time in CLT - such as the floor at then Charlotte Coliseum being trimmed in orange instead of green was a big one - but see it happened at Purdue and South Florida too! Makes sense though, especially the one about USF being forced to play D-II University of Tampa. Also never heard the story about his first meeting with Bobby Knight. Good stuff!

Great service for Coach Rose this afternoon. It was quite a collection of people from Charlotte, USF, Purdue, the NBA and more. Dave Taylor did an outstanding job as MC and Joe Barry Carroll delivered a wonderful eulogy. His children and grandchildren all gave touching tributes as well. What a legacy.
