Legitimate question about hits in the NFL:

Thomas Davis goes to Underwood’s body to make a tackle. Underwood ducks so Davis ends up hitting him with his shoulder in the head. Questions is: How the hell was Davis supposed to tackle him? If he would have gone any lower he would have been flagged for taking out his legs.

Side note: Underwood didn’t actually catch the ball. That is an 18 yard catch plus 15 yard penalty that never should have happened.

My thoughts exactly and that 33 yard play just jump-started their drive which turns out to cost the Panthers the game.

This is what happens when the refs are continually reinforced, “When in Doubt, Safety First.” Notice also that it was not on of the refs actually watching the scene that threw the flag, it was the head line ref. The guys figured that any hit that left a player like that “Must have been” a penalty.

This is just how things are going to go. Prefect tackle, perfect timing.

It won’t be too long now that we see players laying out begging for the hit, or just flopping.

Getting paid millions of dollars in a year to take the hit.

Can’t take the hit? Go back to school and actually get a degree so that you don’t have to take the hit.
